I spoke with a District Manager for Gamestop yesterday when pre-ordering Indiana Jones (PS5). He said to expect it sooner than I think so I'm going from a fall prediction to mid to late May.

We already know what it looks like.

As long as there's a decent looking Zelda game releasing with it, it at least the Gamecube ports, I'll be getting one as a family Christmas gift this year.

I would like to see a new Star Fox Adventures, but I won't hold my breath.

They would be smart to price it at $400, but we really don't know what kind of graphical leap this thing will have.

A big cinematic, blue sparks, a video of multi ethnic children in a bizzarely flawless living room with linelium flaws swinging joycons to cause counter streer, the unviel of Mario Kart 9. Always the off chance they wont call it mario kart 9 because thats just too easy for the consumers to remember. And publishers love reusing old titles. But Nintendo actually has a good history with creative or consistent naming :)  So I will be hopeful.

1. No announcement of trophy system even though fans have begged for it for almost 2 dedades now. And PC, Steam, PS5 and Xbox all have one. I wont get my hopes up. Nintendo also wont get my wallet open day 1 without one at this point. Im fairly firm on it.  It needs a Nintendo trophy system. If they do announce one. Ill almost be in the palm of their hand. I seriously enjoy hunting them.

2. A tease of a new mario but im expecting it's not gonna follow the odyssey family. I think it's gonna be a Sunshine
sequel. As I think Switch 2 is gonna be the console of gamecube ports. No announcing of Windwaker HD or any Zelda for the matter. But I agree its gonna be done. Probably a year 2 game. 44 percent of the presentation on Mario Kart and maybe one other non essential launch title like 12 switch 2 or arms 2.

A giant presentation of how the magnetic joycons work. And probably shaming or shading the current click design. Which I feel was fine.

Eccentric presenter named Kimi will go over the ergonomics of "joycon 2" With a kirby shirt on. She will have gluten allergies although that wont be announced at all. It will only be inferred.

Hidden Joycan features

Haptic feedback improvements

Haptic trigger.

Swappable shells.

Speaker on the bottom that plays sound when in docked mode. Like PS5

Elimination of drift by using magnetic sticks (possible lie)

Can connect to a switch OG via telepathy. And vice versa. The entire system with joycons is forwards compatible. Except you cant click them. This is done wirelessly like when a switch is docked.

The dock will be a stand similar to a apple watch charging station. or a small stand that is the length of the bottom of the system but doesnt smother it. Tiny, barely noticeable. The switch itself will be the visible item.

Corning's gorilla glass upgrades to Orangutan glass for switch 2.

New consoles added to virtual console nintendo membership.  Gamecube (basic ports) Virtual Boy, 3DS and DS. Essentially reviving the library of 3ds and making it more accessible to people who use switch as a sole handheld. I assume games will be pay to play on invidiudal basis. Either that or they will be remastered in massive droves like switch did with every wii u game. They wont let 3ds profit potential die.

(Not ruled out fully)

Levitating Switch using magnet propulsion and quartz from switzerland to create an artistic floation dock.

Steel joysticks.

Holograms or 3d features.

A sony collaberation where switch 2 will be powerful enough to run god of war ragnarok at 120fps.  Thus signalling console unification under a digital new world order.

A Shigeru Miyamoto thumbs down to thumbs up switch such as seen on Jimmy Fallon.

Also Doki Doki Panic 3.

Donkey Kong country Volcano Eruption.

Support for logitech G93.

Stick on rumbles

4K Display (essential) when docked only. 1080 60fps in handheld mode.

A lot of nits of brightness.

A brawl will ensue in the crowd because someone will suggest garfield is superior to snoopy.

Cyberpunk Port.

And maybe. Just maybe.  If were good.

A complex party chat system

I'd love to see StreetPass in some form return.

Personally, I doubt Nintendo will ever incorporate some sort of achievements system integrated with their consoles. This short clip from a podcast hosted by two former Nintendo employees gives their perspectives on the matter. Of course, some sort of system could be unveiled soon, but I'd be quite surprised.

Nintendo loves to disappoint, so I’m fully expecting them to announce a Switch 2 that barely improves on the original. If they don’t do 4K gaming, it’ll be joke.

Seems like stubborn pride to me. It's a quality of life upgrade. I dont get how it wasnt done with Wii U let alone 2025.  I gotta say. When i'm playing switch games. As great as they are. I do feel not the same treasure hunting energy I do when playing PS5.  I know its superficial but I love beating a boss and seeing that glorious ping of trophy. Millions of gamers collect these things. It adds replay value to ever game. Which id imagine makes money in the long run.  Some people will buy a dlc just for its trophies.  But I have given up hope it'll happen. Imagine a mario coin system. Maybe a different icon for each game? So cool :)

I was thinking that too. I wonder if they have the guts to release a 1080p device in 2025? Lol. Man if they do that. I'll make a podcast dedicated to making fun of it.  Bad enough the switch was 1080p. But now they have competition with steam deck and others. Im scared of what this is gonna be.  Can either be what snes was to nes. Or what Wii U was to Wii.
