Author Topic: Books about Commodore Computer Company - Appropriate for Books category?  (Read 550 times)

I'm currently reading book 3 in the Brian Bagnall trilogy about the Commodore computer company.  I'm curious if these type of books are appropriate for inclusion in the "Merchandise/Books" category? For a brief period, Commodore ruled the computer video game period, primarily during the Commodore 64 era. The books were titled, "Commodore: A Company on the Edge", "Commodore: The Amiga Years" and "Commodore" The Final Years". In my opinion, Commodore was nothing if not a games company. What is your advice?

As long as these entries are to represent physical items and not ones supplied in some digital format, then these types of books are fine to add to the Books sub-category.

The answer is actually it depends.

While we have expanded sections to allow for computers, we still only focus on items that facilitate games. For example, we do not track software for computers. As a result, any book that is added to the site must be gaming related. When it comes to books or magazines, the content is not what we are looking for, rather what is represented on the cover. If a book or magazine cover has a picture from a game, a logo or a title, or that of a console, then it can be added.

I'm fairly certain those books had been added to the site in the past but have since been removed.
