Sorcery [EU] PS3
https://vgcollect.com/item/59407
French back cover on English release. Couldn't find English one for replacement but current one should probably be nuked anyway to avoid confusion.

Start The Party! [EU] PS3
https://vgcollect.com/item/15614
This one is a mess. [DE] bar-code (English ones is 711719156673 if needed), [US] rating (Actual Pegi rating 7) and front cover is promotional as it's has wrong rating Pegi 3 vs Pegi 7 (English covers from GameFaqs https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps3/991334-start-the-party/images/1176102)

Some edits that got rejected:

Front image for "Cruella De Vil's Car - Disney Infinity Power Disc [NA]"
https://vgcollect.com/item/115771
I tried to upload the pic from the Wiki http://disneyinfinity.wikia.com/wiki/Cruella_De_Vil's_Car
With Disney Infinity 1 and 2 rule to use package image is not applicable as they came originally in blind packs.

Title of "Disney Infinity Power Disc - A Small World [NA]" to be changed to "A Small World - Disney Infinity 2.0 Power Disc [NA]"
https://vgcollect.com/item/98409
Title should be switched around to meet style guidelines and 2.0 to be added as it is from Disney Infinity 2.0 Edition as can be seen from front image.

Front image for "Captain America: First Avenger - Disney Infinity 3.0 Figure [NA]"
https://vgcollect.com/item/136844
I tried to upload picture from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/CAPTAIN-AMERICA-AVENGER-Disney-Infinity/dp/B01D2EKJ60
This figure came originally as part of "Marvel Battlegrounds Play Set" so there is no package for this figure alone. That's why rule of using package image is not applicable with this one either.

Lastly one of those Frankenstein entries for "Kane & Lynch: Dead Men [EU] PS3"
https://vgcollect.com/item/48967
Back image should be nuked as it has BBFC rating and front cover is probably promotional as logos are wrongly placed. This page has pic of proper covers unfortunately they have plastered their watermarks allover them:  https://tnsdeals.com/kane-lynch-dead-men.html
Photoshopped one of those wrong perspective front covers. Not perfect but hopefully usable enough: https://vgcollect.com/gallery/jjfly

These ones will probably get rejected if I don't give any explanations so I decided to add these straight to the list:

"Guinness World Records: The Videogame [EU] WII" has Scandinavian barcode so either [SE][NO][DK][FI] should be added to tittle or barcode to be nuked.
https://vgcollect.com/item/107670

"Chronicles of Narnia, The: Prince Caspian [EU] WII" got [NA] covers, [UK] barcode an general EU title.
[UK] front cover if needed:  http://www.mobygames.com/game/wii/chronicles-of-narnia-prince-caspian/cover-art/gameCoverId,121528/
https://vgcollect.com/item/102502

"table football [EU] WII" has placeholder images as art. I couldn't find real ones from internet so took pics from my own copy and uploaded them to gallery: https://vgcollect.com/gallery/jjfly
https://vgcollect.com/item/111438
Cam of my phone isn't great so colors are bit off but I hope they look sufficiently good.

Front cover of "CSI: Deadly Intent [EU] Wii" is missing Nintendo logo. Couldn't find pic of real cover from net. Took pics from my copy: https://vgcollect.com/gallery/jjfly
https://vgcollect.com/item/126328
Your call if missing logo or bad quality images is preferable.

"Cate West: The Vanishing Files [EU] Wii" also has placeholder cover art and no good art available on net. Seems to be quite usual on Wii releases. My pics in gallery as with previous entries: https://vgcollect.com/gallery/jjfly

Cruella De Vil's Car: packaging image should be first, doesn't matter if it is a blind pack or not. Packaging details should be put into description.

A Small World: Item title cannot start with "A" as in "A Small World" and would properly be written (in a library system where our "The" rule comes from) as "Small World, A"

Captain America: We can't guess everything. Any item that has no packaging because it is an item that is included with something, should have that fact put into description on the entry. If this description was added along with the photo change OR the description already had this information, the image change would have gone through.

Cate West: Item exists with both white and green PEGI.

Kane & Lynch: updated front art
Guinness World Record: removed barcode
Chronicles of Narnia: removed front and back art
Table Football: corrected entry
CSI: replaced front art

It is great you have a lot of these items, but you should work on trying to get better pictures. Pictures of the actual item is preferred beyond quality, which is why we tolerate some bad quality pictures, but you should at least try to get the best ones possible. So for the Table Football and CSI, I just couldn't use your images. When I take pictures, I often have to retake then up to 10 times before I am satisfied with the clarity. You see these types of pictures here in my pickups posts, but I document Genesis variations on Sega-16. I will not personally accept a blurry image to be used for presentation, and if the picture does not look good, I delete it and try again. Of course, I do prioritize finding usable pictures online, since it is a lot easier to do that than to take my own images sometimes.

If you need help in figuring out how to take better pictures, make a new thread someplace and we'll see if anyone has any tips or settings you can try out.

Is there a reason why "Mega Man X4" was changed to "MegaMan X4" for every release but X5, X6, X7 and X8 are left unchanged?

https://vgcollect.com/search/megaman%20x4

Also Megaman X3 is now X3 with a superscript but X2 is unchanged.

https://vgcollect.com/search/mega%20man%20x3

I hate to bring up this argument again, but I just think it looks really silly, not to mention it's not consistent anymore.

The same answer for "why this but not that" is because I do not happen upon games in the manner you may think. Those two titles are Saturn games, and that was only those have been changed. I am aware that many games have their titles formatted incorrectly. Not only these, but others like .hack// games where I (and others) only corrected one of the games in the series. Even so, this does not preclude other users from correcting titles.

Even on the current Mega Man releases, they use this logo as on Mega Man X4, where Mega Man is not two separate words, but one. All Mega Man games that have their logo like this should be set to one word, even though we all know it is two words.

Mega Man X³ is a weird one where it has that name in US/EU but in Japan it is just X3. Again, looking at these together and you can clearly see that the titles are different. Does anyone ever say Mega Man X Cubed? Probably not, even though that is what is on the box...

But as said before, we don't get to pick what a company puts on their games. I think that it is a good thing that we do record the titles as they appear, but also realise that a person should have a choice on how games are displayed in their collection, such as choosing which name a game should show. But we can't pick and choose which games we name according to their actual title. We can't say "Disney and Dreamworks games use full title as it appears on the box, but .hack we can put the spine title, Mega Man we can put one of these 4 different renderings based on the game, console and country it was released in."

Is it possible that those who wanted full front titles are a vocal minority, or perhaps an authoritative minority made this decision in the past? Perhaps so, and perhaps things have changed from then where this is not as important, or as important to everyone.

Okay so three things. First of all, setting aside the topic at hand, it's undeniable that this change carries very serious implications for the database. Yet this hasn't been communicated to any of the regular users who do work in the database, and it's STILL not in the style guide whatsoever.

Furthermore, these changes have been only been done by one member of the staff, and no-one else (that I am aware of) is clamoring for these changes or making these edits. It feels like it's one member of the staff deciding "this is how we're going to do things now" and while it certainly could be a consensus on the staff side, that has not been made clear to the rest of us. Even after we've had a big discussion about this two times now, a consensus was never made then, and yet these changes are still being done.

Second, what do I mean when I say serious implications? It's more than just combining some words together here or changing the way a number works there. It literally changes the look of the database for nothing more than an "aesthetic", and I think it's going to harm the way this database is seen to new/other users for a very marginal benefit. Let me give some examples of what would have to change if we accept the rule that we record titles "as they appear" on the box.

- We already talked about colons at length before, but why are they in the title at all? The colons aren't visually "on the box" so you could argue that they shouldn't be in the title. I could list thousands of games that would have to have their title changed

- If we keep colons, we have to add a colon every time the style changes, and it adds in colons where they shouldn't be

This game becomes Metroid: Prime: Hunters: First Hunt
www.vgcollect.com/item/11130
This game becomes Donkey Kong: Country: Tropical: Freeze
www.vgcollect.com/item/45607
This game becomes Star Wars: Knights: Of the old Republic II: Sith Lords
www.vgcollect.com/item/197

- Games with other games or companies listed on the box all have to be included in the title

This game becomes Steamworld Heist Steamworld Collection Steamworld Dig: A Fistful of Dirt
www.vgcollect.com/item/111283
This game becomes Pac-Man Pole Position Dig Dug Galaga Namco Museum
www.vgcollect.com/item/815
This game becomes Killer 7 Capcom Killer 7
www.vgcollect.com/item/106615

- Game titles with spaces or no spaces will be either squished together or separated in really stupid looking ways

This game becomes Trans Formers: Prime
www.vgcollect.com/item/49584
This game becomes Digimonstory: Cybersleuth
www.vgcollect.com/item/90977
This game becomes Metalgearrising: Revengeance
www.vgcollect.com/item/16792

- Commonly known game names or franchises will be changed at the core which places a lot of unnecessary burden on regular users and staff

Every release of this game becomes 4 Resident Evil
https://vgcollect.com/search/Resident%20evil%204
Every release of this game becomes Super 3 Mario Bros.
https://vgcollect.com/search/Super%20mario%20bros%203
Every Far Cry game becomes FarCry
Every Dragon Ball Z game becomes Dragonball Z

- And lastly, commonly accepted and established rules of the database are thrown away

Every single Japanese game that has katakana on it would have to be changed from a translation to a transliteration. That whole discussion we had on that was for nothing; if the game visually has katakana on it and no English, it should not be translated into English. I would be so bold as to say that it should all be in Japanese by default because there is no English on the box. And the same thing would go for Korean or Russian games too. That causes huge problems for people trying to search for these games if there is no translated name in the alt-name box. And the style guide has said that games should be written with Latin characters as long as I've been on the site. That's easily hundreds more games that would need to be changed and maintained.

And third, it's not only a huge undertaking to just change everything, it's a turnoff for new users on the site, and it's an additional burden for staff. Half of these entries just look straight up like they weren't entered in correctly. And that's how it will be seen by people who are new to the site and to people who haven't been following this argument or who don't get how this site works. It's additional work for the staff and the regular users who submit edits, and for what? A very maladaptive and detrimental rule change. Is this the way a big library would categorize it's books? I don't think so.

The appropriate action would be to set the common name to be the name on the entry.
Full title could be put into description.
This would mean that the requirement for putting Disney (or other studio marks) in the item title would not be required.

The Style Guide needs to be redone for awhile now. I have a plan for doing it, but I am waiting on approval to get started.

I'm fine with that, but I must say I'm a little confused why these games have been changed then?  :o

I also think it would be good to put it to a vote on what the "default" would be when people log into the site.

User is gohanza. He's got a few more on the sidebar listing games in PS2 Classics and PSP Network (https://vgcollect.com/item/147541 & https://vgcollect.com/item/147537). No idea how accurate they are as I don't use the services but I am almost positive the top 3 are NOT legit releases.
