Based on the least favorite genre thread, I don't think there are too many shooter fans here. I'm a fan of good first-person shooters though  :) The original PC game is the only one I played much multiplayer of which is obviously what most people buy it for now. I used to like the single-player but I don't think any of the stories since Modern Warfare have been very good.

That. In which case, Call of Duty anything is pretty inconsequential to me.

I like COD for multiplayer. I could care less about the story of any of the single player missions. The multiplayer aspect of the games is what holds up the demand side of the series.

If it's exactly the same as all the others, im definately skipping. Battlefield 3 tried to take the genre in a different direction, COD should let themselves be influenced by that and make the games a little better. A new engine is definately a start. The crytek 3 engine is beautiful, I want to see a good fps in it.

COD is only held aloft by it's feverent multiplayer.  Something that we all know will come to end, sooner or later, when people loose interest and servers are shut down.  It seems kinda pointless (to me) to spend that kind of money to get something that at best will only last a couple of months or years and then die off with no replay value what so ever outside of the multiplayer.  Which is on life support right out of the gate.

There are FPS games that I do enjoy and play through occasionally albiet they are old and lack the multiplayer feature.  They were just enjoyable to play, and nowdays that isn't the case.

Well we never said the bunch behind CoD was an original or creative bunch.
