You are in Europe, so I the answer might be different than for US. In the US, we did get the Model 1 with HD Graphics text, and non-TMSS console first. Then Model 1 with HD Graphics text with TMSS (and all that followed), then Model 1 without HD Graphics text. EU (or at least UK) seems to have been relatively the same. IIRC there were more releases of non-TMSS in EU than in the US. However, what we are talking about here is the casing only. That has no real factor in game compatibility. What you are then looking at is the board revisions (the VA number) which do not always match up to the casing. This is the type of topic you should ask on a dedicated forum, such as Sega-16. They even have a topic that might interest you "GUIDE: Telling apart good Genesis 1s and Genesis 2s from bad ones." http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthread.php?7796-GUIDE-Telling-apart-good-Genesis-1s-and-Genesis-2s-from-bad-ones |

I've never owned a non-TMSS system myself, just a model 1 and 2. I haven't run across a game that works on one but not the other... at least that I'm aware of. Just games that just don't seem to work anymore... Then again, I don't think I've tried on both models to see if it was a compatibility issue. |

It's a very small amount only seen a couple of games that have this usually the games that are not worth playing. |
