All RPG's I've played so far are all turn based and vary difficult for me and they make me lose interest vary fast. I currently need a guide for 99% of the ones I've played in the past. and I don't like games that I need to read about how to play them, I like pick up and play games. I love the Pokemon series. I wish I could play the original Zelda without the bad guys constantly firing projectiles at me I think I played the original Zelda game for NES but the NES classic has a turned up difficulty and I hate it. Does anyone know an easy retro/older RPG or open world game? I have a few of them but I hesitate to play them because they are so hard for me to understand. |

Retro, easy and open world? Those three usually don't combine. Although, Final Fantasy VI's second half is very, very lite open world. Otherwise, some easy RPGs on SNES and/or Genesis are: Chrono Trigger Breath of Fire Final Fantasy VI Secret of Mana Beyond Oasis Phantasy Star III Final Fantasy Legend III |
| Cartagia:
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars on SNES is your best bet here. |

I would go with Suikoden |
| emporerdragon:
Super Mario RPG Chrono Trigger Final Fantasy IV Final Fantasy Mystic Quest Final Fantasy Tactics Advance Paper Mario Sailor Moon: Another Story Dragon Ball Z: Legacy of Goku series Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga Knights of the Old Republic series Also, while not retro, there are the Knights of Pen and Paper games, which are RPGs where you're a bunch of players playing an RPG. The big thing is that you can make the difficulty whatever you want for that. And if you consider the 360/PS3 era to be retro now, you have the Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Dragon Age, and Mass Effect series, where the difficulty can be turned down to a cakewalk. |
