57. Kirby and the Forgotten Land+ Star-Crossed Worlds - Forgo Realm
58. Kirby and the Forgotten Land+ Star-Crossed Worlds - Star Crossed Worlds
Over the weekend, I finished the rest of the content in this upgraded version of Kirby and the Forgotten World. The Forgo stuff was pretty much the same, as far as I could tell. The Star Crossed Worlds stuff was completed as I completed the main game. You unlock two stages per world where you have to save Starries instead of Waddle-Dees. The stage layouts are the same but have star-form enemies and different things to unlock. They're pretty, but most folks are going to feel duped/ripped off by them because they don't add much to warrant the re-purchase of the game. Kirby can do no wrong in my eyes so I was happy to do this replay. Others probably won't feel the same. The bosses in this new content are typical Hal but amplified. So. Many. Full. Screen. Attacks. It was insane how much cinematic STUFF they wanted to showcase. But, that stuff is optional so shrug. Either way, I'm glad I picked this up. Kirby is a favorite so I will support where I can.

A generally miserable game, I was glad to be finished with Silent Hill Homecoming. Here’s hoping that Shattered Memories will be a little better.

You've just played through what I consider to be the franchise's lowest point in regards to its console games. As long as you go in with open expectations, I think (I hope) you'll enjoy Shattered Memories.

22 - Abiotic Factor (PC 2025) - BEAT - I love finding a game that I can get obsessed with, where I'll just be like "Okay, I'm gonna do just one more thing" and then it's 2 hours later lol This is a survival crafting game, which is a genre I'm big into, stuff like Subnautica, Grounded, Valheim, Green Hell, are the sorta games I can go deep on. The cool thing for this one is that you are new scientist going to a secret underground complex, where all hell breaks loose. Heavy Half-Life 1/Black Mesa feel, but also mixing other scifi vibes, such as SCP and others into it. You would think being trapped in an underground tech complex would get dull after 50+ hours, but they do a lot to mix up the zones and there's things like portal worlds that add more variety.
There's a lot you can do, a lot of customization, base building, skills to build up, different enemies to fight, cool scifi things happening. I won't go to into it, but I loved most of the game. I do think the later game is...far less interesting than early game, because you start to get way more action heavy and while there is still new things to explore, new gear to build, there's such an emphasis on that action and there's a lot of bullet spongeyness to certain enemies and you'll often find yourself burning through your supplies quick and the ending fight isn't the best. It's definitely kind of big dip, but it's still a really good game, absolutely recommend it to people that like these sorta games.
