Cartagia:
Favorite 2025 Release: Hollow Knight: Silksong

Least Favorite 2025 Release: The only other 2025 release I played Ball x Pitt, which isn't bad, just has to be here by default.

Favorite Game Played in 2025: Silksong again!

Least Favorite Game Played in 2025: Crysis Remastered.  Incredibly meh.

Sleeper Hit of 2025: Ball x Pitt again.  Terrific indie title.

Favorite Gaming Moment in 2025: There are a couple of really great boss fights in Silksong.  First Sinner, Grandmother Silk, and the final boss were terrific.

Proudest Collection Accomplishment of 2025: Uh... I managed to find all my Secret Santa gifts for telly in about 5 minutes at a media shop?  His wish list just matched right up.

Favorite 2025 Release: None, didn't really look for games released this year.

Least Favorite 2025 Release: None, didn't really look for games released this year.

Favorite Game Played in 2025: Favourite game I played in '25 was The Adventures of Alundra for PlayStation.

Least Favorite Game Played in 2025: Least favourite game this year was probably Scrabble for PlayStation.

Sleeper Hit of 2025: None, didn't really look for games released this year.

Favorite Gaming Moment in 2025: My favourite gaming moment this year was the playthrough of Ax Battler for GameGear. The last dungeon was something I didn't know I was capable of beating, but I did! Very proud of that  8)

Proudest Collection Accomplishment of 2025: I got me a PS3 with functioning disc drive again, so I can play my PS3-collection for the first time in years! AND I got myself a uDraw GameTablet which I wanted to get my hands on for quite a while.

Favorite 2025 Release: Expedition 33- just a masterpiece.  I enjoyed every minute of it.  Gives me hope that modern gaming can continue to innovate and surprise us even still.

Least Favorite 2025 Release: Doom: the Dark Ages- Definitely not a terrible game but such a letdown after Eternal.  It's like all the soul and whimsy present in Eternal was snuffed out for a more by-the-numbers experience.  And the soundtrack sucks....  I was just so bored.  I even messed with the accessibility settings to try to make the game play like eternal and it helped but still not enough to keep playing.  Such a shame.

Favorite Game Played in 2025: Expedition 33- if I had to name another game- Dispatch deserves a mention- if you like the Telltale style of games but wish the writing and gameplay was 10x times better- play this.

Least Favorite Game Played in 2025: Lego Jurassic World- I usually like lego games- and it's been a great gateway series to get my son interested in videogames.  But fuck this game.  Such a glitchy mess- Several times we would get near the end of the level and get softlocked or some other progression bug and we couldn't go forward.  Very frustrating.  But now my wife plays lego games with him and it's all better- I can just play other stuff with him- like Kirby Air Riders- that is much more fun to play with him.

Sleeper Hit of 2025: Skate Story- Anyone who is a fan of 90s skateboarding games and subversive mind trips will find themselves right at home.  Eat the moon!

Favorite Gaming Moment in 2025: More of a series of moments- but my son finally reached a point where he can actually play games with me- and he's improved so much in just a year's time.  We have played co-op Kirby games- forgotten land, return to dreamland deluxe, air riders and more- and a few times he's even beaten me legitimately in a race- just very exciting to see and looking forward to his future development.

Proudest Collection Accomplishment of 2025: I completed the 3DO Softcore Adult Series all w/ slipcovers or big boxes- including Mind Teazzer which is just about impossible to find with the large outer box.  Seems silly but it might be in the top 5 of rarest and craziest items in my collection.  A local reseller friend of mine bought out a collection and gave me first dibs.  He really did me a solid.  If I can ever track down a complete long box copy of Dino Park Tycoon- I have a realistic path to actually finishing the 3DO NA retail set- which would be incredible.  Goals for 2026 and beyond!

Favorite 2025 Release: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (PS5) - The gameplay and storytelling in the title was incredibly well done. I was a bit worried with the first person perspective, but it worked out ok and being able to pick up nearly anything and bash a bad guy over the head with it was great fun.

Runner up: Battlefield 6 multiplayer first month. The first month of Battlefield 6 was really fun, but then the devs tweaked it and allowed the ridiculous slide/shooting to remain to appease the Fortnite and CoD players. I currently sit at level 90 and don't know if I'll hit 100 with how annoying the sliders have become.

Least Favorite 2025 Release: Double Dragon Revive (PS5) -- It just didn't capture the feel of old school Double Dragon.

Favorite Game Played in 2025: I played a lot of great older games this year, but I think I'm going to give it to the OG Resident Evil. It was a blast to revisit as I've generally played the 2002 Remake since it released, so going back to the OG 1996 release was fun.

Least Favorite Game Played in 2025: I'm going to give it to Tomb Raider 3 from the 1-3 Remaster (PS5). This isn't a knock on the game as I loved the PS1 original, but for some reason the remaster was way too dark to the point I couldn't see what I was doing. I couldn't even complete it.

Sleeper Hit of 2025: Double Dragon Dodgeball (PS5) - This was a preorder bonus for Double Dragon Revive (PS5) and it's far and above more fun than Revive. If you ever played the NES game Super Dodgeball, then you'll know how it plays. It's basically that with a simple reskin of Double Dragon.

Favorite Gaming Moment in 2025: I would say my favorite gaming moment was hearing Troy Baker voice Indiana Jones and hearing him do a good job at replicating Harrison Ford. I was genuinely surprised in a good way.

Proudest Collection Accomplishment of 2025: I don't have one for 2025. I probably won't have one for 2026 either.

sly345:
Favorite 2025 Release: Clair Obscure Expedition 33 - amazing game all around

Least Favorite 2025 Release: inZOI - should've been so much more, all hype no substance

Favorite Game Played in 2025: Schedule I with friends was a blast and constant laughs

Least Favorite Game Played in 2025: inZOI or maybe Skate. though i expected a microtransaction cash grab there with little substance, at least it was free

Sleeper Hit of 2025: Tavern Keeper, still early access but already amazing

Favorite Gaming Moment in 2025: Experiencing QD-OLED and HDR for the first time. Ori and the Will of the Wisp and Deep Rock Galactic just blew me away

Proudest Collection Accomplishment of 2025: Finally finished all my long-term collection goals (Getting 1 wrestling game on every system, getting 1 hockey game on every system, getting all my Mega Drive and Master System games from my childhood back, the last missing were Alex Kidd: The Lost Stars and Ecco: Tides of Time)
