Do you ever buy Non-Original accessories
upeopt:
Do you ever buy Non-Original accessories, such as third-party controllers, memorycards etc., or is that a "sin" to you as gamers?
bizzgeburt:
I clearly prefer originals, getting rid of any 3rd. party stuff as quick as possible. But there're some cases in which a comparable original item doesn't exist... and if this accessory is useful, I'll use it. Example: GameBoy lighted magnifiers.
bikingjahuty:
I don't have an issue with others buying third party accessories, but I always choose first party, authentic ones. At least for me they feel the best to use and have the highest build quality (typically). I've had a few third party controllers back in the day and I always hatted using them because none of them felt as good to use and play with as the original, first party materials. While this falls under the third party accessory category, I've never used a clone controller I actually liked. The buttons just feel off and if there is any sort of analogue stick they're either less responsive, or just feel stiff. So yeah, I typically always go first party, original.
sworddude:
As a kid with no money back in the day yes, I can either buy 1 controller at 30 or 3 for 10 each
And being the o so Generous Host, always dumping the 3rd party cube controller with inferior buttons on my visitors while using the original one that came with the console for moi.
and obviously to avoid this treatment elsewhere bringing my own controller.
diehard:
Not for a long time, but the Hori products always catch my eye.
