I was considering getting one this summer as there was enough games now to justify a buy for myself, but now there's a timeline to get it to avoid the 50 dollar higher price tag.  Real unfortunate to see the price hikes happen, but that's the way of this crappy world right now.

The Star Fox announcement definitely made me tempted to get one before the price hike, but the combo of my looming unemployment and the fact I still don't see enough value in the Switch 2 to justify the cost, means I'm still going to hold out for a while. Part of me wouldn't even be surprised if I hold out on getting a Switch 2 until near the end of its life, assuming Nintendo doesn't start making all their future first party games key card and digital only.

Seeing where flash storage and memory prices are going, I'm a little concerned all consoles are just going to keep going up and up in price until most of the population is completely priced out. My non-SSD hard drive in my PS4 decided to take a dive a few weeks ago. I went check hard drives out to replace it, starting with SSDs and my eyeballs nearly exploded seeing how much they've gone up in price. I'm pretty sure I bought a 1TB SATA Samsung EVO drive a couple years ago for under $100. That same drive was like triple if my memory serves me right. Unfortunately most drive manufacturers don't make non-SSD 2.5 inch drives anymore, so it was either going used or buying a potential knock off drive. Luckily I had a spare SSD I bought ages ago and only used a few times that I threw into the PS4 and it's working like a champ again. I hope to God that no more drives of mine fail before SSD and RAM prices start to drop...assuming they ever do again.
