It’s the weekend, folks!
Its too damn hot outside. Looks like a game or two tonight. Gotta get up early and do some landscaping at the house. I don’t want to get hot.

^ Personally I see that in the same vein as drinking alcohol too much or being addicted to gambling/working/whatever. Everything in moderation ;)

Look who's at it again.

https://www.cnn.com/2018/06/18/health/video-game-disorder-who/index.html

yeah that is kind of ridiculous. the bottom of the article sums it up the way I personally view it. people that are "addicted" to videogames use it as a coping mechanism for anxiety in their lives. get bullied at school so you come home and vent through games, have a crappy home life so you vent through games, don't have stability in your life so you cope through games. for those "addicted" to it it is a result of the problem not a cause and as such should not be included in the ICD.

Treat the cause and you fix the symptom.

For some people, it really is an addiction. I've seen people lose jobs, lose houses, and lose wives because they just couldn't pull themselves away. In most cases that I see, it's the online MMOs that do it.

I love video games, but I'm not that bad. I also don't play MMOs, though.

Yeah I think the idea of excessive video games or computers as a disorder is actually very real and supported. But that doesn't mean video games are evil, or that you can't have fun playing a video game. It's all about balance though just like everything

Well, it is a sad day, VGCollectors. It looks like the days of physical releases are numbered. It's kind of hard to ignore this sign:

Wow!

I am hoping we get one more full gen of physical releases for consoles.

I think in 15 years, it will have gone the way of PC releases.
