Dragon Quest VI Help

So I'm in the middle of a battle on Dragon Quest VI. I get into a battle with this vulture-looking monster. He does this wing-flap move and it shoots one of my party members out of the group.

This has happened before against other monster. Usually after the battle is over, I just got to my settings and put the character back into my line-up. Only this time, that character wasn't there. And I REALLY need this character. It's the only one I have that has a resurrection (Zing) spell. I tried to go to the church, to see if resurrection was available for her. But nope, because there's no dead body to resurrect!

Is there any way to get that character back? Please help!

I don't know if you still need help, but you need to go to Patty's Party... something, which is in Port Haven. You can get your character back there.

Oh that's right, I think it's in both places. Maybe in other areas as well, it's been a few years since I played it.
