Let's Build a List! Majesco Re-Releases.
(1/6) > >>
scott:
@andrew brought up the fact that Majesco has been notorious for their re-release versions of 16 bit era games. So in an effort to get them listed properly on the website, lets build a list of them.

Since I only just learned of Majesco's releases, I'm not certain about games other than the SNES re-releases which have:

* The warning label on the back of the cart molded into the case, rather than being a sticker.

* They say "Assembled in Mexico" on the label

* The Manuals are printed in black and white, rather than color

My copies of Super Empire Strikes Back and Super Return of the Jedi have the molded label on the back.  I got them both used, so no idea about the manuals though.

Oh, and I just noticed that the cartridge scan for Castlevania IV is of the re-release.  We may want to get that switched around, as to not throw people off.

Looks like there was a JVC release of Super Return of the Jedi too. Does it say JVC on your label at all?
andrew:
I have a newly opened (i.e., a previously sealed) JVC Super Empire Strikes Back. It does not have a molded label. I have seen elsewhere for these two Star Wars games that THQ = Majesco, but I don't know much about it.
