I'm with you there. Last lightning storm that came through zapped the tower that my TV transmitter is on and really screwed up some of the transmission equipment. Must have been one heck of a strike to still get a bunch of stuff despite being grounded. Got a few of the other TV guys that are on the same tower, too.

One time in ATX Austin, Texas it was thunderstorming and a lightning strike hit the freeway, or really near it. It was also purple.
