What are your experiences with them? Have a favorite, or a least favorite? Have you gone through several because they stop working? Best value for your money?
I'm interested in hearing your experiences. :) (Particularly because I haven't used one before)
It seems like there are some pretty decent ones out there, but they all seem to have at least one fairly significant flaw. The controllers in particular I what seems to be the problem with most, though it's not an issue if you can use the original system's controller.

The Retron 5 is a great clone console in my opinion. The only issue with it is that it's not quite at 100% compatibility and doesn't work with the Game Genie or Flashcarts. Also Hyperkin's doing a terrible job at distributing it. Other than that the games look excellent on HDMI.

The only clone console I have is a Atari Play and Plug in from around 2002. It has 8 built-in games that are a mostly decent selection from the Atari 2600. The controller is a bit too fincky, making precise movements on games such as Arkenoid and Pong harder to play than they should be. Overall, its pretty decent and fun with family members,  but something I wouldn't play most of the time.

I can second the Retron 5 recommendation and I go on and on about it (good and bad) here:

To say it's had a rocky launch would be the understatement of the decade. But logistic issues of the company aside it's the best clone console currently out. Period.

I have been reading your review of the Retron 5 and I've found it to be very helpful. I really like that it has its own separate Famicom cartridge slot and can play Super Famicom games too. Unfortunately, I can't find it in stock anywhere. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough. $140 seems like a lot to pay for a clone console too.
