I would say that Megaman X4 is the better game by a good margin. I liked the animated cutscenes, even if some of the voices were pretty bad, as well as the environments and music. I enjoyed playing the game from start to finish, which is something I can't say for X5. I didn't care for X5's nightmare system, some of those silly boss names, and I really didn't like how they made a Black Devil with random block patterns, or a boss rush at the end where every boss has a ungodly health bar because they're level 96( the level system for bosses just increased based on how well you do in previous missions). At least both of these are better than X6 and X7.
