Revenge of Shinobi for the Sega Genesis had my favorite soundtrack (for today).

Strider for Genesis came very close to 1st place. I remember playing that game as a kid just for the music.

Honorable mentions: Killer Instinct and Donkey Kong Country (same composer) had some amazing tracks, Earthworm Jim, Turtles In Time, Gradius. Oh god, I have to stop. There is so much great music in video games!

I almost cried listening to this while playing Rebirth for the first time. Konami did it again!
