In the course of cleaning up the database, I noticed something that I'm not too familiar with, so I figured I'd throw it out there and see if anyone has some insight. We have several PS1 duplicate listings, and upon closer examination of the listings, I've found that most of them have different item numbers. I can see having a different item number for an original release and another for a re-release, such as a greatest hits version, but were there really that many item numbers for the exact same game? |
| matt:
The original database I used listed multi-disk games seperately. Each disk has it's own item number, which is why we've got some duplicates there. I think there is enough room to merge them and just separate them with commas. |

That's what I did on some of the games like final fantasy anthology and chronicles. Just listed all the complete numbers and separated them with a comma. Seeks like the simplest solution to the issue. |

http://vgcollect.com/item/6483 http://vgcollect.com/item/13261 Check out these two listings. They are both Doom for PS1, both with different item numbers. If you do a Google search on the numbers they both show up as Doom. Does anyone know where this B00000I1BT number comes from? |
| monochrome:
Well, SLUS-00077 is the "Greatest Hits" version of Doom, so maybe B00000I1BT is the original long box version? I'll edit the title on the other and throw up a pic in a bit, got some scanning to do and it's on my list :) |
