Game came out yesterday and hasn't begun shipping but one person already claims ownership. Is it a case of "I've purchased it, therefore I own it"?
I mean he's free to do whatever he wants but I would think you'd want the physical copy in your hands first (I could understand better if this were a digital purchase). 
Some users do this for other pre-orders to indicate that they have already purchased or intend to purchase. I'm not a huge fan of it, especially since things can change prior to release (edition type, pre-order exclusives, bundles, etc.) which might affect what is added to their collection in the end.
