Wii U Pro Controller Help!
« on: April 02, 2017, 04:09:06 pm »
So I noticed that my box for my Wii U Pro controller has a different barcode than the one that's in the database. The one in the database is 45496891022, and mine is 045496891626. I looked at both UPCs online and they're both for legitimate controllers. I just don't know how to differentiate the two of them in the database, and with all the fakes out there I thought it might be best to ask some people here.

So, does anyone have the Wii U Pro controller and box with the barcode 045496891022 so we can compare the two? Maybe the item box number, sticker on the back of the controller or something else will be different so I can put the right data in the title.

Item currently in the database:
https://vgcollect.com/item/33969

UPC for the controller in the database: http://www.upcitemdb.com/upc/45496891022
UPC for the controller I have: http://www.upcitemdb.com/upc/45496891626
Currently Playing:
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes (PS4), Resident Evil 5 (PS4)

Ahh crap. I'd tell you, but I threw my box out a few months ago.

I cannot find a photo of a box with this 045496891022 upc. All the photos I can find have 045496891626 (of US black versions. US white, EU and JP versions have different numbers).

It would be allowed to change the barcode on this entry to 045496891626, simply because of the numbers in collection vs confirmed photos from Ebay. This is not to say that the barcode 045496891022 is not used. I would say to not create a new entry with x1022 and to put this other barcode in the description of 33969 for now. You can say something like "some websites use UPC 045496891022 to identify this item but 045496891626 is printed on the bottom of the box."

This barcode seems to come from Target. Since a lot of sites are using both of the UPC for this item, it is possible that the x1022 was the original one ordered, or is the code on the product case (shipping box) while x1626 is the one on the actual controller box. It is unknown and we can also treat them as the same.

If it is found that x1022 is on an actual item, then entry 33969 must have its description edited.
