How Many Play Atari 2600 Games In Any Way
<< < (3/7) > >>
aliensstudios:
I just got into Atari 2600 with the two compilation discs on PS4. I also have Mario Bros. in physical form and am looking to mod my Intellivision to work with the system changer, then I'll start collecting for it a bit.

no I stopped wanting to play it a long time ago. I do on the other hand love collecting for it. there is nothing better as a collector than being able to go out and buy just about any Atari 2600 game for less than a buck.

--- Quote from: bikingjahuty on April 05, 2017, 10:21:03 am ---I was born in 1987 and to be completely honest it is hard for me to even get into 75% of the NES Library, so Atari for me is like no man's land. I played a handful of Atari 2600 games, as well as a few other games on pre-NES consoles and they usually keep my attention for all of 5-minutes and then I just feel like doing something else.

I used to be this way before I grew into more classic gaming. It is like experiencing history that is why I play and have a ColecoVision Flashback and an Atari Flashback 6 and an Intellivision flashback along with many other PS2 compilations. those Games that i've listed some of them have top of the line Atari Graphics and i highly recommend them both the cartridges and the Atari and Activision anthology

It's mind boggling that someone who likes Atari 2600 games wouldn't like Kaboom. It's one of the very few that's just as playable today as it was in the early '80s. The controls are perfect. A word of warning though, this game sucks if you play it on anything other than the Atari 2600. All the modern compilation packs use the analog stick to move the buckets back and forth, but the real magic to this game is the 2600's paddle controller.

Other ones I really like are:

Crossbow - It's a port of the Exidy arcade game. Very good graphics, and especially good with the trackball controller
Oink! - A fast game of building your house to avoid the big bad wolf, who has laser eyes for some reason  :D
Crackpots - You drop pots onto bugs trying to eat your house!
Warlords - Another arcade port, and the graphics aren't much to look at, but its multiplayer mode is awesome

Theyre too old to ever be properly enjoyed imho. i consider the snes as old as i can go back and still enjoy playing the games. >.<
