non-online 4th gen ( early-mid 90s), online is probably going to be this generation In addition, 80s-90s arcade stuff has always been very competitive if you look up score histories, but unfortunately Twin Galaxies only capitalized on the early 80s ones (and are now a huge joke of a website) , so most of the more interesting competition was left for Japanese scoreplayers. There a lot of wr strats for games of that period that are still completely unknown to the west and left up to the user to find for themselves. |

Probably last generation, the 7th. Though the current 8th is surpassing that I feel. |

Thank you tripredacus, if you guys haven't you need to watch A Fistfull of Kong and The Video Game Years. Don't forget that video games were, I think, bigger before the crash of the early 80s. I would also add that if you've never had to lug one hundred pounds of PC equipment over to a friends house for a Quake LAN party with grappling hook mods then....then...go buy a hundred pound PC. And watch beastmaster too. Just cause. |
