Looking for an original Area 51 cabinet.
« on: June 25, 2018, 10:09:33 pm »
I am looking for an Area 51 arcade cabinet with the original artwork.

I don’t care so much if the game itself works as long as the cabinet and artwork is intact and in good physical condition.

Been lurking on eBay and craigslist for months and can’t find one. :(

Anybody got a lead?

I have a friend who bought one from a storage unit seller about a month ago. I think he paid $250 for it and it had probably been in that unit for the past 15 years, at least. Needless to say I was ultra jealous.

But as you probably already are, I'd stalk Craigslist since that is where my friend found this guy. Also check for arcade auctions since these are relatively common at them. I'd recommend these guys; I went to one of their auctions a few years ago and they had machines going out the door for as low as $25.

There's also a company called Super Auctions that I've utilized before, but they've been dormant for about a year now. not sure if they went out of business or what.

Don't know how far you're willing to travel for one but there is an arcade near me that services and sells old arcade machines. Might be worth giving them a call. Don't know what their prices are or anything, but they might have what you want. Seem like they purchase and repair a bunch of machines every year.

It's called Star Worlds Arcade and it's located in DeKalb, IL.

I’ll check it out.

I have zero problems paying for freighting.
