Yes, I think my days of paying more than $10 for a digital game are over. The only exception would be if it is a multiplayer game and a friend wants me to play it with them.

Already have. Granted I'll take a physical copy over a digital any day but if a game is digital only it's not the end of the world.

Then again CD-Roms aren't very up to times for PC now...

No, unless they’re free or dirt cheap.

I doubt I will ever fully embrace the digital. Even with music, where the copyright police have backed off & you can download DRM free MP3s and copy/move them around to your will, I still buy the physical disc whenever it exists. The only music I have in a fully digital state is the Random Encounters catalog (as they don't make discs) & a handful of singles bought with no-rush shipping credit via amazon.

If games ever move closer to how MP3s work (I doubt they'll ever work exactly the same), and if physical discs dissappear, I might continue on in the digital world... but if discs ceased to be created tomorrow & everything stayed as it is now- I wouldn't be buying any new consoles ever again.

I guess I will

I don't really feel the need to collect new games to be fair it's just not the same to me as with the older systems where I actually somewhat enjoy having the physiscal items and the collecting aspect aside from the gameplay on the original consoles.

Pro's for digital

It's easy to get not needing to go to a store or to wait for a copy to arrive, no wasted shelf space if you don't want to collect them anyways not to mention if it will be digital only brand new prices for even the triple A titles wil either start off at way lower prices or prices will drop allot faster in the online stores when a game has been out for a while.

The only reason why I do get a physical copy of new games atm is because it is either cheaper or the same price as a download. if prices are cheap thanks to being download only It's not a bad thing I don't really mind not having a physical copy of the new games that I really need to play. I can see people wanting to collect for the current gen consoles but to me even for the Nintendo switch, wii u ps4 etc i wouldn't really mind if digital only was the reality I will not really collect for the systems and just get the titles that I really need to play. Games being either digital or physical do not really matter to me and in the digital only era prices will be cheaper. If your not a collector or if you do not feel the need to collect for the newer generations digital will be the preferred choice for many.

Even if a download expires in say 5 years (will probably take way longer than that), I'm pretty sure I would not look back or would have played that game plenty of times. It's really nice if you can play a game after 50 years etc but I'm pretty sure that in 999 of a 1000 times many would not go back to a certain game if they haven't played it in years especially in the modern days where the choices are plentyfull or you could probably play the game for free by than if you really need to play it that badly or if it was really that great a remaster is probably available.

It might be a longtime rental since some downloads expire or get taken back in wich your basicly paying to play the game in the hype days when everyone plays the game wich is the most important time for many people as far as the life cycle of espeically a current gen game goes.

Scott Pilgrim vs the World
Turtles in Time Reshelled
Risk Factions

The only way to get these games is now through piracy and emulation.

I’ll never be a fan of other great games suffering this kind of fate.

So embrace? No.

Reluctantly accept?

I really have no choice.

Only for Steam. Other than being convenient, I really don't see what makes digital worthwhile.
