Target did something similar to this over a decade ago with a Williams cabinet. I worked there at the time and they couldn't sell those things to save their lives. They were cheaply made and the screens they used were pathetically small. I can't imagine these are much different.

just reading through actual reviews this is definitely one of those things you buy the warranty on. I looked through a few of the arcades and saw a few themes.

1. the controls are shipping broken and are not capable of detecting movements for certain things. moving up, moving down, button presses, spinning the control, or moving the track ball.
2. fake reviews. there are a whole host of reviews posted around September 10-14 when these were not even able to be purchased till October. but because of the fake reviews these things have a 4+ star rating. when you only factor in real reviews (those in the October time frame) many of these are 2.5 star or under.
3. games wholly unplayable. with the cheap controls when they do work it seems a theme on the few I looked through that 1 or 2 games are impossible or nearly impossible to play with how the controls are made of function. things like defender being only able to move forward and back with the joystick and relying on 1 other button to rotate and the fire button being on the far side of the cabinet so basically no maneuvering and firing.
4. cheap materials. pitting, scratches, bubbling, and broken edges for the graphics and impact marks from being dropped.

I personally would love to get an arcade machine and $300 is a very attractive price but they seem to be as cheaply made as possible and as such I don't think I will ever buy one

My son and I got hands on with the Galaga/Galaxian cabinet they had on display.  I'll just say this, $300 is too much for it.

I used to play the actual cabinets for both games at the laundromat when my parents went to do laundry.  The construction is cheap and the emulation is bad on these.

Kinda glad I passed on these. Almost preordered the SFII cab. I saw the Metal Jesus review when it came out. It’s way too small and controls were too close together.
