Mario 3 helped me during my f'ed up childhood. Great game though. Iconic in many ways.

Grabbed Carrion (PS4/5) while it was on sale for $6. Hoping it's as fun as the trailer looked.

That sucks if true. Is anyone able to confirm the findings? I don't have an Xbox personally so I can't but I'd be pissed if randomly my PS5 stopped playing my PS4 games.

I haven't purchased a CE since Uncharted 4's Libertalia Edition in 2016. They became overly expensive for mostly worthless junk. Then the industry mostly stopped making games worth the basic price of admission.

I traded in Texas ChainSaw Massacre (PS5) and picked up Outriders Worldslayer (PS5) to co-op with a buddy.

Just got done replaying the Game Gear Jurassic Park game. Still love it. I'm removing the Genesis game from replay this year to next as I just ordered the LRG collection that has it on there. I can wait till April to replay it. Plenty to replay till then.

Busted out the Game Gear yesterday and played through Jurassic Park. Still holds up as a really fun game. My youngest enjoyed playing Crash Dummies. Warmed my heart to see him enjoying what I did 30 years ago.

I dunno. I think the legal logic is sound for 20 years or older, but then I look at the politically motiviated authoritarian modern governments. They look for anything and everything to take down dissidents. Even here in America where our Constitution states clearly that we have a God given right to free speech, yet people are getting arrested for speech here. How about how the UK government decided to go after Brand? -- someone accused him of horrendous crimes but he hasn't even been charged. Regardless, they're demanding all tech companies remove his ability to generate income at all levels. This is completely inappropriate and tyrannical. If someone's accused, they should be charged, and there should be an investigation and trial before any steps are taken for punishment.

Do you really think that walking on the eggshells of something you heard about 20 years or older grace is going to stop them from using that against you if they're looking for anything they can to arrest you?

No word on if it comes with a collector's card like their other releases, or if there was, I missed it.

Limited Run Games releases no longer include a "free" trading card, evident from a blog post from earlier this year. They still easily could continue this practice unlike what their explanation suggests, but LRG doesn't begin the manufacturing process for anything until after an item's preorder window has concluded. Item prices have also not lowered to reflect this part of orders having been removed.

Yeah, looks like they have a bunch of Jurassic merch you can buy separately. Shirts, hats, skateboard decks, and a set of 5 trading cards for $8. Everything is overpriced for their merch. Two enamel pins for $30. Hats and shirts are $30. Hoodies are $55. Skateboard decks are $75.

Gross.

Well, I actually pulled the trigger on the Jurassic Park 30th Anniversary Collection (PS5) from LRG. If they hadn't added in the two Genesis games, I wouldn't have bothered. Luckily, they did. Not that it matters at this point as I've preordered it, but I'm hoping they add in the Game Gear or Master System version of the game as well as the Sega CD game. Time will tell, but I won't hold my breath.

I expect I'll get the game between Feb and April next year.

Well, I never thought I'd order from them again, but I pulled the trigger on this. Preordered the basic PS5 edition which after shipping and taxes came out to slightly more than $47. That's fair for moving two of my favorite Genesis games onto modern systems.

LRG says the game will ship 4-6 months after preorders have closed which is Oct. 15th. That puts shipping between Feb. 15th and April 15th next year... ironically missing the 30th anniversary. Just the same, it'll be nice to have these in HD. No word on if it comes with a collector's card like their other releases, or if there was, I missed it. Either way, I'll have more than likely forgotten I should be expecting this game by the time it lands on my doorstep and it'll be a welcome surprise.

Replayed Rise of the Tomb Raider (PS4) for the first time since its release in 2015. While such a gap between replays may seem normal, Tomb Raider has been a favorite series of mine since it started in 1996. The 2015 release, Rise, was marred for me significantly with the Xbox year of exclusivity. It wasn't that it was exclusive, it's that no one would say a damn word on if it was coming to any other platforms for most of that year.

When I finally got to play it on PS4, I felt incredibly let down, mostly by the writing. The gameplay felt similar, but off. It was a worse Tomb Raider than the 2013 game in almost every way. I took such an extended break believing that perhaps the game was better than I initially thought and that I was still pissed over the way it was handled on the road to eventually releasing on Playstation. So where do I stand?

The game is still worse than the 2013 game in almost every way. I played them back to back. I had guessed Rise's entire plot on the first playthrough, having not watched anything on the game during it's year on Xbox and PC. Aside from the writing, how is it worse? One thing I loved about the 2013 Tomb Raider was the reliance on the bow and the axe. You could play a majority of the game with just those two tools. In Rise, the game demands you use regular guns more than you use the bow. Sure, they try and implement the bow in as a tool, expanding to add gas and what not, but for a majority of the game, especially the last half, the bow is essentially useless.

Thus, my original thoughts on the game, while a bit marred by the year of exclusivity via the silence to the fanbase, was still spot on for my tastes. I just couldn't put my finger on what was different between the two to justify calling it worse without the replay.

I own the Jurassic Park Laser Disc and it looks absolutely awesome as it is!

Great collectors item.

As an update from my email to LRG reference the Game Gear and Sega CD games being added, the person that replied either had no idea or wasn't willing to divulge the information. They did say they passed the request on to the appropriate team resources, but that doesn't guarantee anything.

I remember that from awhile back around here being shown off, they had something for it in June that it's coming to Early Access sometime this year, but it's hard to say if it'll be good, it doesn't look like a Dino Crisis style game at all, maybe seems more like it could be a survival crafting/exploration game than that kind of story driven survival horror experience.

Yeah, it was supposed to be a 2022 game. Then a 2023 game. Then they got an influx of cash from interested parties to expand on it and make it "better" and it was delayed till 2025 "tentatively". Until it's released on store shelves, I'm half believing it'll never release and will become another vaporware title killed in the throws of developement hell. I hope not... but I've become a bit of a pessimist over the years.
