Video Game Database Discussion / Renamed digital releases
« on: September 04, 2023, 01:33:28 pm »
What would be the ideal way to deal with a digital release that gets its title changed?

Alien Hominid HD for Xbox One (360 backwards-compatible title) has just been renamed to Alien Hominid 360 on the Xbox store due to a recently announced new port that will now bear the Alien Hominid HD name.
Would it be appropiate to update the db entry with the new title and add notes about the change?

Video Game Database Discussion / Re: Error Listings and rejected edits 2023

The original edit you submitted was prior to submitting an entry for the non-Premium version, which is why it was rejected then, as neither edition formatting or a descriptor would have been necessary.
I realized too late I hadn't clicked the submit button on that one yet, my apologies for the confusion.

With that said, there is also a generic third entry in the category. I can't find any evidence of a non-Spanish release, so this entry may just need to be merged into 235925. If this were done, the ES TLD modifier would then be removed.
Could've been meant for the original French release (digital placeholder artwork matches) which is actually branded as Édition Limitée (Limited Edition) on the box
Only other release I can find without extra branding is this one from Germany.

Hi, need to clarify an edit I was making on this item:
https://vgcollect.com/item/205435

I was adding the (Premium) descriptor to distinguish it from the initial release, which I have now submitted as well:
https://vgcollect.com/item/235925

205435 is described as "ES-TRACKMANIA UNITED FOREVER PREMIUM" on back cover, 235925 as "ES-TRACKMANIA UNITED FOREVER".

Found Enter The Matrix at a local convention the other day, still sealed.
Don't currently have a classic Xbox (and it's not compatible with 360) but I do intend to get one eventually, so I grabbed it.

Classic Video Games / Re: The PS3 in 2023
« on: January 06, 2023, 01:40:38 pm »
I recently got a PS3 super slim and set up a hybrid 1TB Game Drive into it, so it doesn't take long at all to boot. Not sure how bad it was on the stock HDD tho.
Personally don't mind most games being in 720p, as long as you set up your display properly it won't look that ugly. That being said, I always preferred multiplatform games on either PC or 360 unless there's some PS3 specific feature or content to try there.

Edited the items. This is the English only one now, you can add the correct arts to it and add it to your collection.

Awesome, thanks!

Video Game Database Discussion / Guitar Hero World Tour 360 NA
« on: October 06, 2022, 06:32:45 am »
Just got GHWT and noticed the two current X360 [NA] entries on the db actually refer to the same release.
The release in question is this one which features text in English, French and Spanish. 4809 has the IDs, 105738 has the full artwork and no IDs.
The copy I have, which is missing, is this one which features English text only and different UPC / item numbers.

Posting this to ask what the proper approach would be to sort this out before submitting my version as a new entry.

Item was submitted with number BCUS-99249. The copy I got has it on areas listed in the description, but the spine shows BCUS-98280 (used in https://vgcollect.com/item/23848). Googled pictures of other copies and all I've found with visible spines show BCUS-98280 as well.
Figured it might've slipped by in the submission process but without pictures of the og submission's spine it's hard to tell.

I have found one showing a spine and it says what you say.

One thing about this is that it is not a good quality image but it looks to me the back number is 98249 and not 99249.

For whatever the reason is, this game on the various MLs have urls and item numbers redacted and it is from multiple sellers. It is a little weird and makes positive ID impossible for most listings. That one from Argentina was the only one that I could find with something not redacted.

I eventually found this one and has the same back and spine number as you say.

So I will change the item number on the entry you posted.
Thanks for the double check!

And yeah, when adding photos on ML its moderation might mistake small print text for contact info which isn't allowed to be shared publicly, so sellers cover or blur it just in case.
