Soul Calibur 2
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
Final Fantasy III
Prince of Persia: Sands of time

Ooh, tough one. I'll have to pick from my favorite series.
Zelda - Either Wind Waker or Majora's Mask. Really hard to choose for this series.
Resident Evil - Resident Evil 4, a.k.a. the only one I actually had fun playing. 8)
Silent Hill - Original game
Siren - Original game
Tales of... - Tales of Symphonia, although its combat system is a wee bit outdated, compared to later entries.
Fatal Frame - Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly. The third one had better atmosphere, but the second one had better combat, even though I could beat it with my eyes closed.
Drakengard - Reeeeally tough, but I'd have to go with Nier. The original still has a place in my heart, though, despite being undeniably terrible. Can't wait for Drakengard 3. ;D
Kingdom Hearts - Kingdom Hearts II for the gameplay, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories for the plot and characters.
D Trilogy - Enemy Zero. Hair-tearingly difficult, but wonderfully terrifying. RIP, Kenji Eno. You will be missed.

I'm sure I'd love Shadow Hearts if it was easier to find cheap copies of the first game in my neck of the woods. I've been wanting to play it for a while.

Have you played Koudelka (the prequel to Shadow Hearts)?
Seems like just the kind of game that you would like :)
If not...I'm not positive & I'd have to look -but- I *might* have a 2nd copy of it around that I'd be willing to sell for whatever I paid for it (I have to check that, too...but...I'm pretty sure it was c.i.b. for ~$25.00)...just to give such a fan of horror games (you) the chance to play it ;)
Of course, you'd also,obviously, need the ability to play PS1 games/discs :o
Also, if the 1st one's really rare/expensive by you - you really could just start out with Covenant (the 2nd one), which is my personal favorite, anyway...if it's any cheaper/easier to find 8)

Oh, I didn't notice this thread. I'll have to make up my list tonight at some point.

Thanks for your offer! I'll PM you in a moment.
I played Koudelka once a long time ago at a relative's house, and while I do remember liking it, I remember almost nothing else about it. I've been wanting to pick it up again for long time.
I'm one of those weird people who needs to play a series in order, with a few exceptions. I'll get around to playing them eventually.
