Video Showcase / Pokémon glitch channels
« on: November 05, 2017, 02:45:33 am »
I have a channel dedicated to bugs, glitches, oversights and curiosities in the Pokémon games which has become quite popular. :)

https://www.youtube.com/user/chickasaurusgl

Would like to share it for anybody interested in the subject.

I also recommend these people where together you'll find loads of Pokémon glitch videos.

Modern Video Games / Re: Mario Odyssey Discussion!

I try to avoid spoilers but I noticed there seem to be a lot of moons to collect in the game.

This makes me excited and I wonder if like the main series Pokémon games I'll feel determined to try and 100% it.

Possibly it was Pokémon Gold.

I remember I was a young age and I thought for some reason the reason Professor Elm calls you to say something bad happened was because he had a Muk in his lab (like in one episode of the Pokémon anime where Ash sends Professor Oak a Muk) rather than to report his Pokémon was stolen.

I laugh about it now.  ;D

I would also play my older brother's Pokémon Red and Blue copies, and found a Pokémon Yellow cart for really cheap at a car boot sale (as would be expected for a car boot sale which is like a UK equivalent of a garage sale where you go somewhere, park your car and set up a stall to sell goods). I have kept it ever since.

I also found an unlicensed Pokémon Crystal game at a car boot sale many years ago. I don't know if it was the infamous "Viatnamese Crystal" but I sent it back because I personally don't like to keep bootlegs (though I don't mind too much about unlicensed software).

Video Game Auction Watch / Re: EBAY deals! presented by bad@chaos

Been a while...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CLUB-NINTENDO-Platinum-Prize-DOT-MARIO-CUSHION-Famicom-Super-Bros-nes-/272234930022

I happen to own one of these already. This one appears NEW in the original packaging. It's a Mario cushion given away as a Club Nintendo platinum member for 2011 in Japan. 35 dollars, plus 10 shipping to US. I've bought from this seller before; they're good.

Very cool. ^^ Sounds like quite a stylish item to have.

The BoxBoy series is a really nice game series if your nephew is into puzzle-action. :)
There are three games in the series of reasonable length, which while not too difficult also have a challenge in completing the levels within a limited number of moves and obtaining crowns for completionists, so I feel it's a great game for people of varying playstyles.

If your nephew hasn't played the original Sonic games they are available for sale 3D Sonic The Hedgehog and 3D Sonic The Hedgehog 2 with added 3D and special features like restore points a Super Sonic mode where he is already unlocked. I feel it's really fun. ^^

Some other interesting games include Starship Patrol (mild violence but only spaceships shooting) and HarmoKnight which is a rhythm-action game by Game Freak the creators of Pokémon.

I don't really like the perception some people have of video games being bad for the brain and responsible for lack of attention.

I relate though because sometimes I get highly engrossed in them and don't pay as much attention to what other people are saying or the time. (I am also on the autistic spectrum)

However I feel video games are actually good for the brain, they may help our ability to focus, are often pleasurable, develop our hand-eye coordination and often have compelling stories which can help our reading skills and also develop empathy for the characters.

Despite this I identify now as a casual gamer, if I don't feel like playing a game I may simply not play it. Other times I may challenge myself however, as I like to do with the main series Pokémon games to complete the Pokédexes.

I recently completed the Pokédex on both Virtual Console Gold and Virtual Console Silver, with the help of the Coin Case glitch for obtaining Celebi.

I still have a lot more games in my collection to complete, but decided to play Klonoa for Wii and have really enjoyed it so far. I also bought Wario: Master of Disguise for DS again after getting a little bored with it and selling it. Now I'd like to give it another go and see if I can complete it.

Another game I would like to complete is Ever Oasis for Nintendo 3DS.

The endless amounts of "Unlock Luigi in Super Mario 64" 'cheats' that I admittedly tried once or twice, only to realise they're fake.

...and the Laser Suit in Super Mario World.

I love the L is Real 2401 rumour.

Though I was not that young at the time, I believe these were followed by rumours of unlocking Waluigi in Super Mario 64 DS involving the empty white door from the room where you change characters and/or entering the painting of Peach outside of the castle. Not sure about the details however.

(Hope it is OK to bump, I looked for a rules list but couldn't find one if there is one could somebody link please. Thanks : ) )

Video Game Database Discussion / Re: Category/Platform Requests

Hi, I'm wondering if you could add a Game Boy Color [KR] category as there are two Korean Game Boy Color games (and possibly more I'm unaware of); the Korean versions of Pokémon Gold and Silver (Pocket Monsters Geum and Eun) or at least a Game Boy Color [AS] category like tripredacus suggested please?

Thanks.

I accidentally created two duplicate listings for Hello Kitty no Beads Koubou.

https://www.vgcollect.com/item/117264 and https://www.vgcollect.com/item/117265

Please delete this one: https://www.vgcollect.com/item/117264

Thanks.

I added two entries for the Pokémon Sun and Moon demo (EU and NA) and added them with the categories Nintendo eShop [EU] and [NA] but didn't realize we have a Nintendo 3DS Demo category.

I added a request for the EU one to be moved into the Nintendo 3DS Demo category (which does not have region subcategories), so once this is reviewed and possibly moved may somebody remove the North American demo entry please?

Thanks!

The rumours that having the Mossdeep Space Center reach a specific number of rocket launches in Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire would allow the player to battle Jirachi or Deoxys. When Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire were released relatively recently it made me wonder whether Game Freak/Nintendo/The Pokémon Company acknowledged those rumours when creating the Delta Episode side quest.

Sadly no trick-or-treater came to visit my flat (although it is rather out of the way), but there was a visitor at our mum's/mum's partners place.

I used to love trick or treating when I was a lot younger and one year I actually wore a physical pumpkin on my head. It sure felt heavy, ha ha.

I have a humble little Klonoa collection, right now I'm missing 'Empire of Dreams' for GBA and 'Moonlight Museum' for WonderSwan
I've heard good things about the Klonoa games! I don't think it'd be my cup of tea, though.
that over what's being included. Oh well. :(

I really like the sound of Klonoa too and personally feel they may be the type of games I like. Good luck with your Klonoa collection!

I've been working on a The Legendary Starfy collection spread out over a long time and would love to get some specific items such as the big Starfy plush (the smaller Densetsu no Stafy 4 one is less rare but still uncommon), the Beanbag Mascots or the Densetsu no Stafy pencil case even though realistically I don't feel the collection is going to reach completion (excluding not-for-sale items such as posters). Unfortunately some of these items are really rare.

I did come across the Beanbag Mascots twice on Yahoo Auctions Japan, but I couldn't find the time to get in a bid sadly.
