What's better Earthbound or Final fantasy 3?

Final Fantasy 3 as in the actual Final Fantasy 3, or the SNES version of Final Fantasy VI?

Personally I prefer Earthbound, but I've never been a big Final Fantasy guy really.

I can only go with Final Fantasy III, but that's because I've not been able to play Earthbound yet.

I'm leaning more towards saying FF3 is the better game from what I've played, but Earthbound is my personal favorite by far. I've never actually gotten around to finishing FF3 either. Maybe I'll see if I can pick up FF VI Advance and give it another run through.

I like Earthbound as it presents itself, but I think that Final Fantasy 3(VI) is the deeper and satisfying experience. Final Fantasy VI has a lot of things going for it especially with the esper system, the story and development of its characters, and the amazing and one of the best soundtracks of all time by Nobuo Uematsu. Although the difficulty isn't very balanced throughout the game, I still think its other factors have influenced me to enjoy the experience and commitment that is required through this game, just a little more than Earthbound.

Admittedly I've never finished either, but FFIII was leagues more entertaining and interesting to me than Earthbound.

Final Fantasy III (VI) hands down.

Final Fantasy III/VI easily. Earthbound is by no means a bad game, but beyond its quirky charm it honestly doesn't have much going for it and has not aged well at all.

They're both great.. I liked Earthbound better though, because it was really different. Atypical weapons, enemies, characters, but somehow it worked.

I like Earthbound better. That's not saying FF3 is bad. Both are great games. I just like the silliness of Earthbound better.

It really depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want a serious and deep game, FF6 is great for that. If you want a more relaxing, quirky, light hearted story, Earthbound is great for that.
In the end, both are amazing games, but Earthbound always has a place in my heart.
