What's the weirdest game in your collection?
-
Probably Mr. Mosquito for the PS2.
-
Panic! on the Sega CD. It hold the honor (or dishonor) of being the strangest game I own, as well as the worst.
-
Kaze no Regret
-
I love strange games, so I have a couple honorable mentions first:
Whiplash - A genetically altered weasel breaks free of his cage and proceeds to wreak havok by using the genetically altered rabbit that's chained to his leg as a weapon.
Seaman - Raise a grotesque half-man/half-fish creature, have strange conversations with it and get constantly berated by it.
Y'know, as much as I wanted to dig up some little-known game to be the weirdest thing in my collection, it's one that I'd wager most people here are very familiar with. That doesn't make it any less weird tho:
Katamari Damacy - On a druken bender, your dad - the King of All Cosmos - destroys all of the stars. You have to recreate them by rolling random objects, food, animals, cars, houses, etc. into a giant ball. Then your dad tells you how poorly you did, with a voice that's literally a record scratching. It was weird about 10 years ago when I first played it, and it doesn't sound any less insane now. :o

Mario
-
Probably Chulip on PS2

Probably Chulip on PS2
What's that like?
-
Probably Chulip on PS2
What's that like?
You go around, peeping at people who live underground (some of which seem to be into BDSM) and give people vegetables and try to kiss them so you can build up your courage to kiss and marry your crush.
-
Otogirisō for the Super Famicom
It's an interactive story type game.
Completely text driven.
Since I know zero Japanese and there is no english translation for it all I've experienced of the game is watching scenery scroll by out the drivers side window and seeing a bird.
I've had it since it was given to me 5 years ago and never even knew the name of the game until the Retron 5 told me what it was.
-
The Rub Rabbits! for the Nintendo DS is the strangest game I own. It's a very weird minigame collection, and a prequel to Feel the Magic: XY/XX. What's even weirder is it's Japanese name, which translates to Where do Babies Come From?.

You win this round! :)

Odama. The best voice controlled feudal Japanese pinball war game I've ever played.

Thank you! I've been missing out on this game because I always think it's Okami. :P
Wishlisted that mofo!
-
Goat Simulator for me. It may be strange, but it's a beautiful work of art that represents the ultimate achievement of the human species.
-

That game is so awesome! I just love how you can control all of the srpg actions with the gamecube mic. I wish they had made more game liked that used the mic's usability rather than just Mario Party and a few other games.
-
As for a game as in game play, its probably Seaman for the dreamcast. If we are talking about Collectors editions and their contents, it would then have to be Record Of Agarest War: Really Naughty Edition. The boobie mouse pad and half naked anime chick pillow case are as creepy/weird as it gets!
-
Asuka 120% burning fest. It's an all girl fighter for multiple systems, I have it on the Saturn. Really good fighter, strange but good
-
I'm just a newcomer but for about 3 month's, it had to be Plumber's Don't Wear Ties.
After playing it, I sold it.

BTW: How do I show my collection in those boxes?

I've always said Joust is pretty strange. Imagine describing it to someone who's never heard of it:
"You're a knight in outer space, riding an ostrich that can fly and you have to knock other knights off their ostriches. When they die, they poop out eggs. And a space pterodactyl comes out of lava to bite you sometimes."
Probably Katamari Damacy or Mr. Mosquito. I used to own JJ & Jeff, which was pretty friggin' weird.
-
Asuka 120% burning fest. It's an all girl fighter for multiple systems.
I cant see a weird aspect to this. I would actually own a game like this on purpose. I love girl characters on almost any game but especially on fighters.

Akiba'strip Undead & Undressed- you fight synthetic Vampires in the Akiba District of Japan and how you defeat them is in a 3D beat-em up style gameplay that messes up their cloths which after messing them up a bit you then remove to expose them to the sun...with Dating sim Elements thrown in
-
Zombie Nation.
You're a giant, disembodied samurai head flying through a city destroying buildings. All the while you're being attacked by shit like you're Godzilla.
CRAZY!
-
Probably Project Rub. That's quite a weird one.
-
Hippa Linda aka Stretch Panic aka Freak Out.
-
I'm going to cheat and name more than one. I like weird games. Vaguely spoilery?
D no Shokutaku. Jump into your dad's mind castle and remember that one time Dracula made you kill and eat your own mother. If it takes you more than two hours, you get sucked into your compact mirror and die.
Illbleed. Go to a killer theme park. Leave your friends to die and tear off all your clothes to get the best ending. There's also a level where Woody from Toy Story sets out to save his girlfriend, a talking sex doll marketed to children, from a demonic Sonic the Hedgehog by killing a young boy.
Haunting Ground. Sic an attack dog on a mentally disabled man. Run from a psychotic doll woman who wants to tear out your womb and may or may not have fed you your own mother's remains. Shove a clone of your father off a tower after he tries to impregnate you. Or don't. There's an ending where he succeeds.
Deadly Premonition. Solve a murder mystery with the help of the voice in your head. End the game by killing your girlfriend's womb tree and blowing up a giant transdimensional alien.
And of course...
Drakengard. Team up with a pedophile and a child-killing cannibal to defend the world from giant flying babies. Complete a stage devoted to killing child soldiers. Then die horribly because Taro Yoko hates you and everything you hold dear.
I also have a game with built-in Christmas lights that activate when you put the cartridge in the console, if that counts.
-
Rugrats: Search for Reptar on the PS1 to me in very random.
I personally don't really have any words to explain it.
-
I'd have to go with Moe Chronicle on the PS Vita. I went out on a limb and decided to import the Chinese release with English subs. I referred to it lovingly as my pervert game since you basically go on a quest to find the "legendary monster girl" who is thought to be the main cause of the attacks on humans from the local monster girls. I'll just say there's a "rubbing" minigame involved.
The only other one I can mention is Xenogears. With the religious undertones, and dual personalities, it's one majorly crazy experience.
-
MR. Musquito for sure
-
wow where do I begin... lol
Well I won't mention the games that fellow VGcollector's have already mentioned "Seaman, Panic & Zombie Nation"
But I'll list some of the other games that are WTF from my collection.
- Pepsiman (PS1 JP)
A game where you run around as a superhero named Pepsiman and he must collect Pepsi cola to save the world.
What makes this game even weirder is the cut scenes between levels where some fat guy is crazy for Pepsi.
- Space Channel 5 (DC)
Maybe most might not put this game on this list but think about this. A reporter saves a space station by mimicking their dance moves.
- Cho Aniki (PS1 JP)
This game a shooter where you fight weird muscle men. Just look this game up on youtube it's beyond WTF. lol
- LSD (PS1 JP)
This game is is based off the creator's dreams, and its some of the weirdest things you can imagine. The game can go from odd to a nightmare in seconds.
- Incredible Crisis (PS1)
A game where you play a average family on the worst day of their life all because they forgot grandma's birthday.
- Sukeban Shachou Rena (Wii JP)
I technically don't have this game yet, But i ordered it a week ago because I just found out this existed. A game where you run a business and you have to stop Cats from taking it over. You play mini games like out playing a cat on the Piano, dodging cats attacks while catching the good cats, take money while the cats are not looking and racing the streets while a cat vacuums items out of the sky.
- We Dare (PS3 EU)
This is a game where you use the Playstation move controllers to play crazy "adult" mini games, such as spanking your partner with the remotes. lol
- The Yakyuken Special (SAT JP)
A game where you play Rock Paper Scissors with Japanese girls to make then dance and strip. (and a few of the girls you really rather they keep they clothes on) lol
- Beat em & Eat em (Atari 2600 & NES repro)
I really don't want to explain what you do in this game, it's so foul. I still can't believe someone took the time to remake it on the NES.
There's a ton of weird games that are digital only (especially the indie games) I'd buy most all of these if they where ever released as a physical copy.

I've wanted to play this game for a while, but my computer practically melts any time I try to emulate it. Do you think a physical copy is worth the high price, or does the novelty wear off fast? Also, your post introduced me to a lot of games I want to check out now.
Completely forgot I own Zombie Virus, better known as Zombie VS. Ambulance. I think the title is self-explanatory. It never came it out in America, but I imported the PAL version so I could play it in English. Great weird game. The "Simple" series is full of strange little titles like it, but most of them never came out of Japan.

Suddenly I need this.

As of yesterday, I want say to Michael Jackson's Moonwalker?

It's not really a game with any goal, at least as far as I can figure out. It's more of a game I put in and watch other peoples reactions to trying to figure out WTF is going on. It's a novelty but not really much of a game. While its a blast seeing your friends trying to play it, the reactions alone is worth the money. It's also fun just to explore and see what crazy crap you find. There really isn't much of a "game" to play. Most just go around touching things to see what weirdness appears next.

Yes this is what I said, I watched a video and was laughing so hard I just wish this game came out in the states.
Just look at the box art. lol

Same here. Gonna have to grab it!
-
I just remembered more strange / weird games in my collection.
- Toilet Kids (PCE JP)
a Top down shooter where you play a kid flying a toilet shooting a lot of weird enemies. Lots of poop in this game. lol
- Strip Fighter II (PCE JP)
A Street Fighter II rip off where women fight with Adult moves. Some of these are quite bizarre.
-
I had a hard time coming up with something. I'd have to say Yume Penguin Monogatari.
From a historical/developmental standpoint I would say VS. Pac-Man. It was design, built by Shigeru Miyamoto and Nintendo, then published by Namco for the GameCube
-
BB Ball for the GBA, simply because there's practically nothing about it on the Internet.
http://vgcollect.com/item/90967
It's like some sort of Pokémon clone. Sort of.
I've had it ever since I was a kid, and I still haven't beaten the first section yet. Really hard to play if you're not Japanese...
-
Chibi robo gamecube
-
Street Racer for the Super Famicom
A fun Mario Kart clone that has a soccer mini-game that resembles Rocket League in a way.
-
BB Ball for the GBA. A Japanese exclusive title pretty much nobody has played o:
It's really, really weird.
-
captain bible in dome of darkness. its a christian themed dungeon crawler with first person combat also its constantly forcing you to answer a bible question
-
Otogirisō for the Super Famicom
It's an interactive story type game.
Completely text driven.

Nice, I played Otogirisou (St. Johns Wort) many years ago and quite a few sequences I can still recall. Survival horror as a sound novel seems to work very well, and although this was a very early attempt from Chunsoft, Otogirisou has a brilliant atmosphere.
