I absolutely adore the soundtracks to Pikmin and Heavy Rain (no difference there, right)? I even listen to the latter on the train to work sometimes, it's just so dramatic and enjoyable.
I'm not sure if we're counting rhythm games, but I would put Amplitude on PS4 at the top of my list for that. Not one bad song in the game.
I always love hearing everyone else's favourites, particularly for games I haven't played and should check out! :)

My first favorite soundtrack from my entire life was "Mech Warrior 2: 31st Century Combat" for the PC I was vary young last time I ever played that game and (at the time) never heard a barely any of hard rock or metal yet in life.
In fact the main reason I think I got into metal and rock music in my life period was because of some of the songs on that game alone. if your looking to play it is is called "Mech Warrior 2: 31st Century Combat and I prefer the PC version of that games soundtrack,
if you like some metal mixed in with some classical you may like this soundtrack but don't go out and buy it, I would at first give it a listen on YouTube, most of the songs are not even rock through but it is still a good soundtrack anyway in my opinion
My current favorite soundtrack is The Sims series (anyone) on the PC, especially the first and second series music on the PC

Final Fantasy VI.
"Oh my hero, so far away now. Will I ever hear your smile? Love goes away, like night into day. It's just a fading dream."
-
-Anything Guilty Gear
-The Messenger
-Doom 2016 (Only when it's ingame. I found that it's not super listenable outside of the game)
-Alot of Mega Man NES/SNES is good.
-Undertale
-Persona 5
-Ocarina of TIme
-
First off No More Heroes soundtrack is highly Underrated. Honestly probably my favorite video game theme (N.M.H.)is from this series. "It's Killed or be Killed" "Gorgeous Blues" "the virgin child makes a wish upon a Star" "we are finally Cowboys" and let's not forget the taunting yet catchy as hell "Philistine"
Any Guilty Gear
Smash Bros
Xenoblade Chronicles series
Sonic Adventure 1 &2
Castlevania series
Doom 2016
Hyrule Warriors
Yakuza series karaoke songs are a guilty pleasure(look up "like a Butterfly" it's basically Japanese Evanescence)
Last one I'll mention is the Madworld soundtrack mainly because it's Rap and rap is 100% not my kind of music, but I fucking love it for some reason. favorite song being "You Don't Know Me"

-Tengai Makyo series (Far East of Eden)
-The King of Fighters '96
-Twinkle Star Sprites
-Wachenröder
-Winds of Thunder (Lords of Thunder)
-Ys series
-Zero Divide

Every Zelda game has fantastic music but, my personal favorite soundtracks are from Wind Waker and Skyward Sword. Anytime I hear a song from these games it gives me the urge to play them on the spot.
Super Smash Bros. Melee has the best music in the Smash series just for the simple fact that most of it is orchestrated, which gives it such an epic/"big" feeling to it.
As divisive as it is I think Super Mario 3D World has my favorite Mario music because they really spiced everything up with a jazz theme throughout the game.

Yeah, like I said above, Sunsoft games had some amazing music, mainly on the NES where even games like Fester’s Quest and Gremlins 2 sound remarkable.
