my wife got me Tekken Tag 2 on the PS3. she got it from ebay not realizing there was a code needed to play online. sadly the code has already been used. Im gutted. all my friends that play live in England and i live in USA now.
why is this kind of information not clearly shown on the box?

Buy the game from Gamefly - most of the time their codes are completely unused. Still, that sucks. :(

what annoys me most is i cant find anywhere on the box that it says activation code required for online use. however they felt the need to put a disclaimer telling me i need a 3D tv to play in 3D and that i need a mic to chat.

Went out Garage Salin' and found a few goodies. 1sy sale picked up a White Gameboy Advance with a Mary-Kate & Ashley game for $2. System battery cover was broke but it works.
Then picked up a Nintendo Virtual Boy for a quarter, yes 25 cents. Had its controller, stand, eye piece, battery pack, and manuals. for 25 cents. It was in excellent condition, the i got home and tested it and.... It works... BUT one eye screen doesn't :( I already own a VB but its nice to have it for parts if i need it for my VB. Or if someone wants it in a trade. Can be still played just lose the 3D effect.
Then I picked up FF: Mystic Quest for SNES for $6. Been looking for this cart in great condition. Always found it in bad shape before. Gonna go out salin' again today lets see what I find. ;)
May's total Pickups....
Console - Gameboy Advance (white) GBA - Mary-Kate & Ashley: Girls Night Out SNES - Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest

Hit my 1st yard sale of the season today -and- it was a weird but good one :)
First of all...it was a bank having the sale :o
Not sure if the employees just donated stuff to sell, or what -but- they had a bunch of tables both inside & out in the parking lot, overflowing w/ your "typical" yard/garage sale shit.
Anyways, I left with:
(1). A black bag w/ a shoulder strap & a sectioned-off plastic insert inside with a big, old "GAME BOY Color" emblem/stitching on it,
(2). A cart-only, GBC game called: "X-Men: Mutant Academy", and
(3). A cart-only, GameBoy game called: "Pokemon: Special Pikachu Edition".
Best of all?
When I came up to ask the cost...the girl said that, since they'd been sitting out there since this morning - that I should "just go ahead & do them the "*Favor*" of taking them all off of their hands...FREE of charge" :)
Like I said - a strange one w/o any amazing finds -but- a promising start (FREE Merchandise:) to the new & upcoming season of garage & yard sales...

A bunch of recent Steam purchases:
Rise of the Argonauts - $2.50
Grand Theft Auto Complete Pack (GTA 1-4, Episodes, San Andreas and Vice City) - $16. But wait, why was this $16 if it was on sale for $12.50 last weekend? Well, as it turns out, people who buy GTA Vice City (or a pack with the games) now is missing ten songs because record execs are money-grabbing jerks. But this particular set was purchased -before- the cutoff. So it still had the cut songs. I bought the set from a trader since the price will only go up in the future.
And yes, the music matters to me.

^ Maximum Carnage was a HUGE part of my childhood, both the comic series and the games. Played the hell out of the game, rented it like 50 times over from the local video store, probably. And the comic series was one of the first I paid for, collected, and completed on my own as a kid with lawn-mowing money. I also was getting X-Men: Fatal Attractions, and The Death and Return of Superman comic series at about the same time.

Had some pretty good finds this morning. I am now the owner of an Intellivision, Odyssey 2, and a shit ton of games for both. Looks like at least 2 houses were cleaning out 30 years of attic. The Odyssey 2 owners were pretty particular about their stuff. The system and most of the games have the box. I'm going to have to sit down and go through what I bought. I don't even know how many games game with each.

There's a small scan of it here (http://www.dothack.org/products.html).
I got a few more games today thanks to the Meridian1 Build-a-Bundle: Grotesque Tactics 2 (Steam) Larva Mortus (Steam) Space Trader (Steam) Tank Universal (Steam) RIP Trilogy (Steam) Penguin's Arena (Steam) Shadowgrounds (GOG)
And... I found this weirdness yesterday at the dollar store that's close to my US hometown's Wal-Mart:
Yes, it's a real game. I think. >_> The publisher mostly specialized in dollar DVDs and softcorn pr0n vids. Go figure...

Slipped into a dirt mall this afternoon. I had $16 in my billfold. That was enough to walk out with some cool Sega stuff. I don't know much about Sega CD and Saturn games, but at that price was right. The Genesis games are Altered Beast and Strider. The cases weren't in the best shape and the Genesis games had the sticker on the label, but once again the price was right.
Genesis: Strider and Altered Beast Sega CD: Mickey Mania and The Masked Rider Saturn: Mystaria, Solar Eclipse, and Space Hulk

Went to some garage sales. No one had anything. Talked to an old lady who said her daughter was trying to sell her old "Seka" collection :). Her daughter was 50. Yeah, anyway waiting for a call on what Seka games she has. Other than that, went out GS dumpster diving and pulled out some crazy stuff. Official PS3 headset Afterglow PS3 headset a madden ea headset for 360 usual promo posters, gameinformers, promo buttons and pins blah blah blah Some controllers, line rider 2 for ds, 2 ps memory cards, and some other random ps2 titles.
ended up keeping the ps3 headsets and Line Rider 2 traded the rest the other day to my guy at the flea market who loves promotional stuff. (which is great for me!) Ended up with: Red GB Pocket atomic purple GBC ecco the dolphin - DC unreal tournament- DC Ooga Booga - DC Bubsy II - Genesis Fantasia - Genesis Pac-Man 2 - Genesis Sub-Terrania - Genesis Gauntlet - NES Tetris 2 - NES

Thanks guys. The funny thing is, I've been looking for all of those complete for years at a reasonable price and they literally walked through my front door on Friday night. We had an RGS meet up at my house and someone brought them in for sale/trade. I was excited to say the least.

Picked all these up at a local thrift store for $1 each: (http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc101/atariboy_pics/Video%20Game%20Stuff/PCGames-1.jpg) (http://s212.photobucket.com/user/atariboy_pics/media/Video%20Game%20Stuff/PCGames-1.jpg.html)
Picked these up at a yard sale, I threw them all in with a 12.1MP Sony Cybershot camera for $8. (http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc101/atariboy_pics/Video%20Game%20Stuff/XboxPSPPS2Games.jpg) (http://s212.photobucket.com/user/atariboy_pics/media/Video%20Game%20Stuff/XboxPSPPS2Games.jpg.html) (http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc101/atariboy_pics/Video%20Game%20Stuff/DSGames.jpg) (http://s212.photobucket.com/user/atariboy_pics/media/Video%20Game%20Stuff/DSGames.jpg.html)
Then I went to a yard sale where they had a free box and in it there was a black box that I opened and lo and behold 2 Super Mario watches I went to the lady and asked if they were free and she said they were cuz they didn't work (Dead Battery) I ended up giving her $5 (all I had left in my Wallet) which she didn't want to take but finally did. Well the mailman came and gave me a special package. It's a new gaming console I can add to my collection, and it is one of my top 10 rarest consoles by far. And most of you most likely never heard of it. lol A Funtech Super A'Can (http://vgcollect.com/images/front-box-art/29874.jpg) (http://vgcollect.com/images/cart-art/29874.jpg?rand=14) It was only released in Taiwan and came out about the same time as the PS1 and N64 and failed big time. It's graphics and gameplay are the same as a SNES. Only a small hand full of games where ever released on this thing. I got one game with it. - Adventures in Africa (http://vgcollect.com/images/front-box-art/43202.jpg) (http://vgcollect.com/images/cart-art/43202.jpg?rand=10) It's basically a Monopoly style party game that takes place on an African safari but what is funny is the characters you play are from 6 different countries and as Germany you play as Adolf Hitler. wow. the US you play as Madonna lol and Europe you play as Sherlock Holmes. Only in Taiwan. lol
May's total Pickups....

Mostly been snagging stuff on Steam and GOG, partly to keep my costs down, and because I'm running really short on space to store games until we get moved into a bigger place.
Plus I finally, FINALLY got a copy of Front Mission 5: Scars of the War, which was on my wishlist for a looong time because I was having trouble finding a black label copy, which is the only version that's compatible with the English fan translation.
Not really a purchase, but I've also been checking out the open beta for Neverwinter Online, and am really enjoying it. Pretty stable for me too, despite the occasional glitch, and they've confirmed that beta characters will carry over to final release. Much woot!

Yeah, it looked good, and for $2.39, I figured I'd check it out. Strange thing is, I could swear I played a demo of it a long time ago, but there was a glut of Diablo-esque games around the same time, so I could just as easily be thinking of Sacred.

Pickups have been coming in slowly as of late. Garage sale season has finally begun, so hopefully things start to pick up.
Recent pickups:
NES Laser Invasion (complete, other than instructions) Caesar's Palace (CIB) Gyromite (CIB) Cobra Command (box only to go with my loose cart)
PS2 Arcana Heart (bought from desocietas -- smooth transaction. THX!)
This only leaves Contra and Super C to complete my Konami "gray box" complete/boxed collection.

That seems like a nice deal on the trilogy set. Does it include all the DLC?
Not all of it - it comes w/ codes for 4 or 5 of them + the "Extended Ending" one for free.
I'm also looking forward to hearing about the Ouya :)

I went to bike night last night. It was starting to rain so a lot of people didnt show up. After being there nearly an hour and basically being the only person there, I decided to leave. On the way home is a Half price bookstore so I went in. I didnt see much to interest me so I was just going to head out. On the way out, I see this case behind the counter. I go over and its a Gamecube case fully stocked. Black GC with all the cords, Wavebird, memory card and of course : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Official-Nintendo-Gamecube-Soft-Sided-Travel-Case-Video-Game-Holder-Carrier-/171037486376?pt=US_Video_Game_Cases_Bags&hash=item27d2a0ed28
Well, I already have 2 GC with cords so I asked the guy if they would consider parting out the set since the other pieces arent required for the system. He called over the manager on duty. He said yes and compared the price of another GC they had with the one I was looking at. $30 for the one I was looking at, $20 for a base system. So for $10 I got a wavebird with receiver and the case. Im really loving the GC system lately and didnt have a Wavebird anyhow so I was pretty happy with the purchase. It was funny driving home with this case in my shirt driving my Harley down the road. Looked like I was pregnant but it was worth it!

Lol that would have been odd to see. The skyrim box is enormous compared to that silly case I got. :)
True that!
Nice find, Soera ;)
I've found that - much like with Love - you'll usually find the best, rarest, and most unexpected things either:
A. When you're NOT even looking (or you're already (usually very recently:) spoken for), and
B. Where & when you'd least expect to :P

Back from my little trip up north in Illinois. Always a treat shopping outside your home market region. Different shopping priorities and thus different markdowns. The town I went to still has a fully functioning rental store, that is part of the Family Video franchise, and showing no sign of closing any time in the near future. They have excellent quality re-surfacers and thus their pre-owned games are in new playing condition guaranteed. I'm also throwing in marked titles from a pawn shop that is also just as good with their disc quality. My little take from them are as follows.
<[ Playstation 3 Dead or Alive 5 $9.99 Far Cry 2 $9.99 Inversion $9.99 KungFu Rider ( Pawn Shop ) $5.99 Marvel vs. Capcom 3 $9.99 Motorstorm: Apocalypse $9.99 Ridge Racer Unbound $9.99 Transformers: The Game ( Pawn Shop ) $7.96
<[ Xbox 360 Game of Thrones $9.99 Iron Man $9.99 N3II Ninety-Nine Nights $9.99
In addition, Family video was holding a sweet 4-for-1-Dollar sale on older DVD rentals and had a ton of titles I didn't have yet. So ended up buying 100 of those too.

Been having some great luck lately on garage sales. Stopped at another sale and they had a CIB Steel Battalion with controller. I got it for $25, I have one and I figured I'm sure I can find someone who will want it. It's to good of a deal. Well I didn't open the box til I got home, and found it's the blue button version. This thing looks like it was never even used. I own a green button version so I guess I found someone who wants it. me. ;D

Think I may put in a pre-order for DoDonPachi Saidaioujou later, now that it's confirmed as region-free :)

Just picked up the Heretic/Hexen collection on Steam for $9.99. Includes Heretic, Hexen 1 & 2, and Hexen: Deathkings of the Dark Citadel. Still had to download GZDoom to get it to run right, though. Nonetheless, great old-school FPS with a definite fantasy-flair to it all that brings a lot of nostalgia back for me. $10 well spent!

So on the way to his place I stopped at a few garage sales and found something. - Magnavox Odyssey 300 (CIB) - Coleco Tabletop Arcade: Pac-Man with Perma Power Adapter Got them both for $30 Then bought from a friend... - Bandai Wonderswan (green) (CIB) - Shining Force III on Saturn (CIB) and the best piece... (please don't hate me) lol - M.U.S.H.A. on Genesis (CIB) ;D

Great pickups flea! Can we give this man a round of applause! It really is easier in some parts of the country. If there aren't a whole lot of collectors (more importantly resellers) in your area, you get the best deals around. But this guy puts in the leg work. Good work, brother.
I forgot to mention the "broken" PS3 I bought this morning had the hard drive come loose and it wouldn't start up. All I did was push it back in snug. Now I'll have to spend more on 1 controller than I did the whole system. :P

Thanks Turf, But you are right, I do put in a ton of leg work. To find those deals I usually hit over 50-100+ sales in one weekend. Spend about half a tank of gas. and maybe 1 out of 20 sales will even have anything game related. I head out at 7am and don't get home til after 2pm some days. I have a ton of fun just hunting games. I'm I "loaded" No, Nowhere near rich. If I was I'd buy every game I want on Ebay when ever I wanted. I have a great paying job, have no kids or wife. So this is what I do to enjoy my time.
As for the "Resellers" yes there's a ton of them out here. And I know most of them, Hell most of the resellers come up and talk to me like I'm one of them because they see me so often. Just gotta hope you hit a sale before they do. There was one sale this weekend I saw a Reseller at a table grabbing everything up and when I walked over I saw a box under the table he missed and that's how I got the Gameboy games this weekend. He looked pissed that I got some games he didn't. Poor baby. :P
Then there was the day last year someone listed "tons of classic video games" in their add, so I showed up 30 minutes early and waited for the sale to open, then the resellers showed up one by one. They where bragging about stuff they found and sold and talked to me like i was one. I just ignored them. When the sale opened there was me and ten resellers. While they where scanning all the books/movies i asked the guy running the sale about the games, he said he didn't bring them out yet. So I waited by his back door and when he brought out a box, I set it down started to go through the box when all of a sudden I had 10 people reaching over me and grabbing anything they could. I yelled at them to back off and wait their turn. And they tossed the games they grabbed saying they where priced to high to make any money off of and stormed off. I've even had them say snotty comments at me in passing a few times because they know I buy video games and I'm not a reseller.
Personally I hate these guys, not just because they buy up video games but how they act towards collectors and also they make garage sale runners treat me as a reseller. I'll ask about a cheaper price on an item and I get told "why so you can sell it and make more money?" Then I pull out my phone and show them pictures of my collection, then they see I'm just a guy who just loves games and then they are all friendly to me. lol
When I meet collectors it's a different story, we share garage sales we're going to. Take down each others info, tell each other what we are looking for and we help each other out. Make trades, I even take other collectors with me and we have fun. So collectors are awesome, resellers can die. :P
And when I talk about resellers It's just the guys who buy and sell on Ebay/Amazon, not the guys who run a used game store. They are usually cool and help us collectors out. Most of them don't garage sale anyway most of their stuff comes from people bringing games in the store. Even those crappy resellers, yes they also bring stuff in they can't sell for cash.

Your a reseller fox? :o There is a grey area in resellers, some are collectors who get stuff for their collection and sell the stuff they don't want or need. While most of us collectors would rather trade extra stuff then sell it, they sell games to have money to buy stuff for their collection. Long as they act like a game loving collector and not a greedy reseller, they are okay by me. Just remember to be a collector first, seller second. ;)

It's my main source of income. There's very few jobs locally.
Most of the stuff I pick up is the kind of stuff that will only get thrown out or destroyed, or worse. I DO buy stuff for myself, but I also buy stuff to resell. I already know what to look for and how much to pay for the stuff.
And there's a lot of other resellers in my area, and not that many collectors. Some folks go around scanning stuff with their phones and they piss me off, you can tell they're only in it for the money. I'm 50/50, I won't deny I buy stuff to resell (... online, I wouldn't say that to the seller's faces :P) but a lot of the weird stuff I keep for myself.
I've got a reputation, and many sellers give me a good price because I tend to buy lots of stuff (books, VHS / DVDs, CDs) anyway.

Major city? If you call Calexico, a city of like 50k residents, a major city... haha. :P
I live in Mexicali, Mexico, but cross over to the US to a couple of flea markets to buy stuff, and resell the things on eBay and gaming forums. A lot of sellers bring stuff from up north (SF / LA / SD) to sell down here, since a lot of people come from Mexico to buy stuff for cheap. Well, sometimes for cheap. Other times they're fucking nuts.
TL;DR - it sucks here and I want to move to the US, but I can't do that right now so blah.

Looking around today to kill some time I found
Batman Returns SNES - $4 Mega Man X7 PS2 - $4 N64 Microphone - $4 (I think. It may have been $5)
I've been wanting Batman Returns. Folks talk about how great of a beat 'em up it is. It finally turned up. I thought I had found something in X7 since folks pay top dollar for Mega Man. Turns out I don't know dick about playstation stuff and need to leave it alone. The microphone is cool. I think it only works with 1 game, but my Hey You Pikachu! is complete now.

Nothing worth picking up at garage sales this weekend, though I didn't come home emptyhanded. I hit a pawn shop which was selling all of their PS2/XBox/GC games for $2. I grabbed:
XBox: Advent Rising Darkwatch Beyond Good and Evil Genma Onimusha
PS2: Wild Arms 3 Drakengard 2
Then I get home and crack them open to find Drakengard 2 actually had Legend of Alon D'ar inside :(.
They also had ALL of their movies on sale for $1 (and they had at least 5,000 DVDs on the shelves). I ended up picking up like 8-10 DVDs and could have easily bought tons more, but my wife was getting tired of waiting for me :D

Its a weird pick up ... but I was at the local store looking at the controllers. I normally just skip over most of the current gen controllers but a color caught my eye. Purple. I like the Afterglow controllers and I have looked at their website before and other stuff and knew that the purple ones were not widely available as the red/blue/green ones were. It was priced as a normal controller so I picked it up. There are none online for sale and if you find them, they range from $50 and up. I already had a red one so now I want the blue and green. :)

This just happened to me at Goodwill. Saw a Survivor Series 1999 VHS tape (I know, you're all laughing @ VHS, but these PPVs are highly sought after Attitude Era PPVs that were only released on VHS back then). I did check before I got the register. Inside the case was Survivor Series 2001. But since I saw "Survivor Series", I didn't look at the year and thought it was all okay.
Oh well, I would have gotten it still even if I did know it was 2001, but I would have liked the case to match the tape.
I never did play Drakengard 2. I liked the first one a lot, though. If you like that hybrid of on-foot action and dragon-battles, then I suggest checking out Drakan: The Ancient Gates on PS2. Great game that combines the 2 aspects like Drakengard, but it has more of an open-world RPG feel to it with a bit of exploration involved.

I once bought Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style for the Ps1.
When I got home, I found out the disc had been stolen.
I now open every single game I'm interested in, even if the seller puts tape on the front to stop people from inspecting the disks. :P

Stuff I got this weekend from yard sales, Dreamcast collection $40 for everything, then got the other stuff from a free box, and the controllers actually work :D (http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc101/atariboy_pics/Video%20Game%20Stuff/DreamcastCollection.jpg) (http://s212.photobucket.com/user/atariboy_pics/media/Video%20Game%20Stuff/DreamcastCollection.jpg.html) (http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc101/atariboy_pics/Video%20Game%20Stuff/Free_Stuff.jpg) (http://s212.photobucket.com/user/atariboy_pics/media/Video%20Game%20Stuff/Free_Stuff.jpg.html)
That's pretty freaking awesome. You have a better Dreamcast collection than me, in one purchase.

Got a sealed Aladdin Deck Enhancer and 6 sealed games for the coooooool price of free. I'm really considering opening it since there are a lot of listings on ebay, and I'm really not that big of a sealed guy. I'll leave it to you; should I open it?

A friend of mine's neighbor gave it to him, who gave it to me. A quick ebay search turns up that these were seldom used, haha. There are more sealed Aladdins than there are opened and boxed.

Yeah there is some guy on NA who bought an entire pallet of them and kept them all sealed and has been selling them for months. Or trying to anyhow. Its neat and all but he wants like $150 a set. Which is above my price range.

I'd open the games. The set is still available sealed all around so it's not like these are very rare.

Of all things, I found a couple of Game & Watches in a pawn shop yesterday. Bomb Sweeper is in amazing shape. Box, styrofoam, game, and even the little stickers to put over the battery door so babies can't eat the batteries are all in great shape. The other one is Safe Buster. Not in bad shape, but it's missing the battery cover. I had to give more than I wanted at a pawn shop, but I still got a pretty good deal. I gave $50 for the pair. I still feel pretty good about it. If I can remember, I'll post pictures this afternoon.
You know you have an odd collection when you have more Game & Watches than PS2 games.
I wore all of my Game Watches out *L*

Finally got myself an original cart of Final Fantasy III, thanks to Darko! For years I've been only able to play it on PS1 or GBA, it'll be nice to finally be able to play it on the SNES again.
and now you will play a truly frightening game that start out a bit of a slow burn but good as time goes by unlike the game i'm playing now (fear 1) which is just bad

Got my copy of Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut, along with a slew of cheap deals on Steam through various sources - Crusader Kings II, Metro 2033, BioShock Infinite, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, Crysis 3, Hitman: Absolution - Professional Edition, Shadowrun Returns, and Avencast: Rise of the Mage.
Have to say, the "holy crap, running out of storage space" hasn't been all bad. It's been nice to sort of reconnect with PC gaming, remind myself why I love playing games on the computer as much as I do on console.

Weird find at a local game store : DQ VII Jp NTSC complete. Had to get it cause the chances of that happening again are pretty small. Also walked into a pawn store and asked if they had any other PS3 controllers in their backroom. She comes out with one that looks a little ugly. Apprently the previous owner (or their child) removed the rubber cover from the thumb pads and they just looked rough. She sold it to me for $2. I took it home, got out the finger nail clippers and trimmed around both of them. Now they look sort of like the yellow thumb pad on the Gamecube controller but they work perfectly. As does the rest of the controller itself. $2 well spent!

Most definitely. This was used as extra battery power on the go. The Game Gear did not last too long when it came to batteries. So, if you had a long drive or such, this was a decent way to go. Also, if you just wanted something rechargeable. They also had a variant of the powerback that would clip to your belt.

I also found two Game Boy Gamesharks, version 3.1, with software discs and instructions - and a Nintendo 64 Gameshark, with manual, for super cheap. I'm gonna see if I can sell or trade'em off. :D

Good point! I never thought of that but it would be correct. The Game Gear shared the same AC adapter as the model 2 genny, so that makes perfect sense!

Just got a couple items in the mail First a Super Famicom System with 1 game, F-1 Hero 94 Only paid $35 for it, its in nice shape. Love how the controllers are so short. lol Now I have a system to play the other Super Famicom games I've picked up.
Then I got two Tiger R-Zones with 1 game, Daytona USA. Only paid 99 cents for both of them. lol All systems worked great and are in excellent shape. R-Zone is really as bad as people say, I love how bad this thing is. Definitely one of the worst game systems ever made.

Got something cool today. I picked up this for $25
Clue Super Battleship Super Advantage
Everything is complete and in amazing shape. The Super Advantage still has the $49.99 sticker from Babbages. It looks like everything was bought and then crammed in the attic. The games suck, but they're in great shape and were part of the package.

Went to a used game store for the first time in a while, and walked out w/ this stuff! I've been wanting Yoshi's Island for a long time and finally found a reasonable price locally. And they had a deal going, so I snagged Power Rangers and Timon and Pumbaa's Jungle games! Funny, I played the hell out of the PC version of Timon and Pumbaa. But I can't get it to work on my PC for some reason or another. Found it had this SNES release today and had to snag it.

Is it just me, or does that Mind-Gym cover guy look like Woody Allen? :P
Went out garage saling the last couple days and found... very little and nothing exciting. Wii - Cabela's Outdoor Adventure ($1) Wii - Game Party 2 ($1) Wii - Jump Start Escape from Adventure Island ($1) Wii - Samba De Amigo ($1) PS2 - Arena Football ($1) PS2 - All-Star Baseball 2004 ($1) GBA - Franklin's Great Adventures (50c) GBA - High School Musical: Livin' the Dream (50c)
So I stopped at a few stores, first a Best Buy had a huge Clearance rack and I pick up these... all brand new sealed. PS3 - Pictionary ($5) PS3 - Ninja Gaiden 3 ($10) PS3 - Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition ($12) XB360 - Saints Row the Third: Collectors Edition ($25)
Then a few local game stores and picked up.... SNES - Tetris 2 (2.50) SNES - X-Zone (2.50) SNES - Actraiser ($10) SNES - Knights of the Round ($40) had its manual and was in mint shape, I had to get it. Tabletop - Entex PacMan2 (even had it's original Adapter) ($10)
And last a couple boxes came in the mail on a couple great deals on rare Japanese Game Systems. 1st a Sega GS-1000 II complete in box with 13 games (http://vgcollect.com/images/cart-art/29880.jpg?rand=14) It's the 2nd version of the very 1st Sega gaming console. It was even before the Master System. The GS-1000 MkIII is the Japan master system. Graphics on this system look more like the Colecovision. Heres the games i got with it. - The Castle (had Manual) - Champion Boxing (CIB) - Flicky - Girl's Garden - Golgo 13 (CIB) - Hustle Chumy - Hyper Sports (CIB) - Lode Runner - Safari Hunting - Sinbad Mystery - Space Invaders (CIB) - Star Jacker - Zaxxon
Then I also got a Sony PSX. (http://vgcollect.com/images/front-box-art/44081.jpg) This is basically a rare PS2 with a built in DVR and Hard drive. It was really expensive when it was released as a Japan Exclusive.

Nope, the PSX is is just an unofficial term folks started using to refer to the PS1, for some reason. I guess you could say that PSX refers to original model PS1s and PSone/PS1 refers to the remodel. But I always thought the PSX term was a stupid abbreviation.

Yeah I can understand the Confusion about this system, Before I got into Japanese consoles I used to call the 1st model Playstation a PSX. and the 2nd model a PS1. But Once I found out there was a Console called the PSX released only in Japan and it was in fact a fancy PS2/DVR and has really not much to do with the PS1, I only refer to the classic Playstation as PS1 (model 1 & 2) or if in a forum call them PS1 and PSone. Most people in America never even heard of the Japan PSX so when someone talks about PSX in the US they are usually talking about an original PS1.
On a side note, I have to say the PSX is a cool looking system, it has cool light effects when its playing. All though it weighs a ton and the controller ports are in the back and kinda a pain to get to. It only plays Japanese PS2/PS1 games, and atm I only own 1 PS2[JP] game.

I don't know about "unofficial". PSX was the term used back them to shorten the name of the original Playstation. It was used in all the gaming magazines and websites at the time. Heck, there was even a "PSX" Magazine dedicated to Playstation gaming only.
It's "PS1" that came into common usage later on, in order to differentiate between the PS1 and the PS2.

Been taking a break of the whole gaming community (though I have been hanging around in regards to the whole Xbox One fiasco), but I'm back now maybe. Sometimes we need to do stuff like that :P
This also happens to be the first time I get anything in quite a few weeks... so good timing to get back. Last friday I got Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, which anyone with a 3DS should get. And today I got an Ouya, which kinda sucks so far but is more okay-ish than I was expecting.

Before it came out I saw rumors of the controls being pretty much crippled, but I'm happy to say that's not the case. Just make sure to switch the movement controls from the slide pad to the d-pad, and it's fairly solid. Just takes a couple levels to get used to using the shoulder buttons to roll.

On the upside, I grabbed Donkey Kong Country for the 3DS too. I love it so far.

A GameKing (http://vgcollect.com/images/front-box-art/44253.jpg) This is a System only released in Hong Kong (as you see, the outer casing is a Gameboy Advance) While the system looks like an GBA knockoff and it's carts are GBC knockoffs, It is it's own system. A bad one at that. lol It was sold to be a cheap game system over in Hong Kong. Made by TimeTop, It came out in 2003 and has 8-bit Graphics worse then the Original Gameboy. The graphics more remind me of the MicroVision then Gameboy. lol They made three different models and they pretty much all failed. The one I got was the first model. It has three built in games, and I got one cart with it. A 4 in 1 game. They are hard to come by, Especially in the US.

Dude, even by collector's standards; you have some weird stuff. That's the first I've ever heard of that one. Nice pickup.

the game king is a interesting console because its the first console (at least handheld) to be designed, manufactured and released in hong kong, it was also a moderate success for what it was. the game king's biggest problem was its low quality screen and the fact it relied heavily on 4-colour bitmaps that made game development easy but has the disadvantage of taking up a lot space on the cartridge.

I've been into N64 racing games lately, for some weird reason. Today I picked up:
Lego Racers
lego racers is vary hard but fun. i have the ps1 version but i did played the n64 version when i was 6 or 7 and there the same game.
my favorite n64 racing game is california speed, its a standard arcade racing game with one exception, it can win a race by playing as a old man in golf cart in a mall

I needed to use my Gamestop birthday coupon and luckily noticed that there was a copy of .hack//G.U. vol. 1 available in a neighboring city (which I happened to be going to this evening for a show).
Requested through the website for it to be held, got there and was told by several people that someone had come by earlier desperately hoping to buy it but that I'd already requested to have it put aside.
I figured I wouldn't be lucky enough to get it with the case and manual, but still not a bad deal for the disc only at $15.
Sorry, other local collector dude. But hey - that "pickup @ store" feature has its perks when it works!

I wish I had the consistent success you have with garage sales. I have a day like that about once a year.
Yesterday, my boxed Pro Wrestling (NES) showed up in the mail. It's it great shape, included everything but the manual (even the original plastic cart bag). Box would be mint if it wasn't for the cardboard hang tab missing and some tears in the top flap where the hang tag was connected. Nearing the halfway point in my NES black box CIB collection, though most of what remains is out of my price range.

What Black Box Games are expensive? I mean, other than Gyromite and Stack Up.

I paid $30 for the Sega Game Gear stuff and the Gameboy games. Sadly both Gamegears need capacitors and I had to replace the Pokemon battery. I used the battery out of the NES Baseball Stars that I had that didn't display correctly. The board was very corroded on the Baseball Stars. Pokemon works perfectly now. The Sega battery packs also need new batteries.

I'm trying to collect them CIB, so it's drastically more expensive than getting the cart by itself.
For example, price estimates: Mario Bros. Arcade -- loose $20 / CIB $120 Wild Gunman -- loose $15 / CIB $75 Clu Clu Land -- loose $15 / CIB $100+ Urban Champion -- loose $5 / CIB $75+
I bid empty boxes for Gumshoe and Ice Climber (w/manual) and was outbid on both -- they sold for $25 and $48 respectively. Any retro game for me over $50 is out of my price range. I'll never own a Little Samson or Cheetahmen 2 unless I win the lottery (or am lucky enough to find one in the wild).

Can you tell my collection is mainly loose? :P
I honestly had no idea. I would have thought $25 would have been top end. I passed on several of those at a flea market last year (Duck Hunt, Wild Gunman, Excitebike, Mach Rider, and a couple more) because I thought $20 was too high. I'm a moron.

I used some of my club Nintendo coins to download Super Mario RPG on my Wii U, but didn't realize that I still need a classic controller. Either that, or I can just wait until the Wii U VC gets it so I can upgrade.

(That's Ogre Battle Gaiden for the Neo Geo Pocket on the left)

Viking: Battle For Asgard is such an underrated game. It doesn't do anything new really, but what it does, it does well. I had a lot of fun playing through it. Don't know why it's such a "bargain" game.

Dang I almost found the same thing, Mine was Black model, 3 games, the hip battery pack and carrying case all for $5. After testing it out the Game Gear works, great bright picture but no sound. :( Tested the battery pack and I can get no life out of it, the charge light doesn't come on. :( At least all the games worked great :)

In most cases, with Game Gears that have bad sound, the headphone jack still outputs sound. I hook up computer speakers to my Game Gear through the headphone jack when I play, for this exact reason.
