Here's the reason why. I just recently hooked up my black Xbox360 console and I just found out tonight Microsoft did something to the firmware that prevents you from playing 99.9% of all Xbox original games even both with, and without an internal hard drive installed now. September 2023. All you can play with the Xbox360 console from the very first series of Xbox that came out in 2001 is HALO COMBAT EVOLVED. I didn't check if Halo 2 still works or my other Microsoft studio game.
But yes, now my own Xbox360 is basically no longer compatible with just about my entire collection of OG Xbox games. This is Proof that the modern gaming industry doesn't give a s hi it about older games. Which is why i am working on saving a whole lot of 20 years or older games to a storage device for safe keeping.

That sucks if true. Is anyone able to confirm the findings? I don't have an Xbox personally so I can't but I'd be pissed if randomly my PS5 stopped playing my PS4 games.

Just tested my Xbox 360, there was no update. I ran Dead Or Alive 2 Ulimtate and it worked fine.

You really need to stop posting stuff like this when you don't have a source to back it up with and can actually confirm it's not just a you issue. There's nothing out there that supports this and it would make zero sense to randomly patch the Xbox 360 and keep it from being able to play the original Xbox games that it could.
The only thing even adjacent to this, is that they are closing the original Xbox 360 store, July of next year, but that only factors into digital releases, not normal backwards compatibility.

From what I can see, not all Xbox games work on 360, so there's a likely chance that the games you tried just don't work on 360. You can check here. If they don't work, but are on the list, then it's probably an issue with your system.

1.I erased the original Xbox live profile and tried to create a local account. Even though I had this console for 6 years now.
2. I never use bootleg or ever plan to use ROM's on the Xbox 360
3. I now need to update the Xbox manually.
4. I use an XboxOne controller to play Windows 10 emulators
5. If I knew it was totally legal I would just get some OG XBOX games, for windows 10 (I think the app store sells them) so free is not an option for me.

The 360 has needed a hard drive installed to play OG Xbox games since Backwards compatibility was rolled out. This isn't really new.

Yeah, 360 was only compatible with like 100 og xbox games, chances are your games just arent compatible.
I have my og xbox games sorted into 3 areas, xbox one bc, xbox 360 bc, and non-bc. Majority of my og xbox games are non-bc

FAT32 is an old format setting for almost all external or internal hardrives but the problem is in order to have a FAT32 harddrive you must re-format a more efficient harddrive to be less efficient according to tech books I've read
it to that setting and now mostly all external and internal hard drives use NTFS FORMAT which is said to read s lot faster and be more efficient than Both FAT AND FAT32 setting

Hard disks don't "use" any particular format. You use the format that best suits your needs. NTFS should only be used on disks used in Windows XP (equivalent) or newer, only if you are using volumes larger than 31.9 GB and if you need to be able to store files larger than 2 GB.
I'd like to see some datasheets on efficiencies of Windows based disk formats if you don't mind.

I used BING once and my PS2 stopped working that same day!
I found out that BING is being controlled by the Illuminati, so I haven't used it since. This may be just a coincidence, but none of my consoles broke again ever since. I don't know... You'd better watch out. Better safe than sorry.

No Bing is an AI search engine from Microsoft. The Illuminati are mostly catholic under grounds, They don't care about random people. I don't follow the Popes. But I do believe in the catholic church structure. But never with the Pope or any Priest being worshipped as God.

Welp, one thing I can say about my OG XBOX is that mine still seems to work just fine. In contrast, my first X360 RROD’d after about a year, and the replacement they sent me lasted maybe 2 more years before the disc drive stopped working. Cheap POS. Clearly they don’t make ‘em like they used to.

Keep that in mind and also keep in mind. NASA helped connect with and contribute towards the OG Xbox construction somehow.
OG Xboxes were built in the honor of NASA, listen to the menu sound, somebody talked about them on YouTube somewhere.

Try cleaning your lasers first! You can use a special disc with brushes on the silver side. Or you can also use kind of Some Kind?
OF Liquid? but never too much. however, if you don't trust yourself, you may just need to take it into a local PC tech like It did when I needed to get my leaking capacitor cut off before it fried my used OG XBOX motherboard.
You may also need a replacement disc drive or have loose parts or screws or something else like that inside the machine causing shuffling sounds or performance issues.
You also may need to clean dust out of the machine.

No machine is invincible, the original Xbox360's especially. I have something inside of me that says, most 360 hardware was actually sabotaged when hackers realized Windows 7/Vista was not going to be anything like XP was.
Windows XP on the infrastructure side was a POS. I got my ass chewed up by hackers in 2005 when I last used that OS. I Never used Vista but that was actually an experiment for the final of Windows 7 I believe. Windows 8,9 I believe helped build 10 & 11 I can predict Windows 11 could be compromised like Vista was eventuality in somewhere after this post and replaced with the number 12.
But this theology is based biblically on the number 11 and mere superstition.
POS meaning Piece of shit security overlook embraces yourselves and keep you Win 10 discs if you still have them or bought it.

I totally agree with this. There's so much we don't know about these systems and we can't blindly believe what big corp tells us because the FBI will always just know about it anyways. I used to be a huge Xbox fanboy to the point I asked my girlfriend to start calling me Xbox because that just felt natural like me being inside my soul! Then one night my girlfriend felt me being inside her soul and she screamed my name, but that turned me on and my Kinect! I was so ashamed that Gates was now watching us because that meant the catholic church was also seeing us! I know she has god in her too but can't it just be me for once? There is no data privacy anymore. I don't want my data to be sold to the Illuminati cults to be used as their Fiverr training videos! But I knew that Gates was behind it all, it wasn't just a situation where I'm the only one behind it. That Kinect technology means he was there with us, and it just happened that on that very same day, I had broken my ATV's muffler from doing too much competitions of "stuff a toad in, press the gas, see how far it goes" with my friends at the Bayou. You don't see the coincidence? Well it happens that the toad was picked on the pond next to the ranch of my friend's dad who turns out be cheating on the wife of the boss of the classmate of the best friend of the dealer of the favorite prostitute of the school's principal who was born on the exact same day as Bill Gates, proving that NASA was responsible all along!! Research projects like this are severly limited when talking about USB flash devices. While there are measurable differences as shown in the testing results, it isn't anything you can use in a real world scenario. The reason being is that USB flash memory degrades and will get slow over time as more writes are performed. And even if you were to use only brand new flash drives all of the time, the file system choice is also meaningless (in this context of use with a gaming console) because the performance difference is not detectable by a human.
The discussion is in regards to hard disks. And the point that a person cannot make a boilerplate claim that one file system is better than another because the world doesn't work that way. File system choice has nothing really to do with performance unless you are talking about high availability systems. So you choose file system based on needs. For a general use scenario, it doesn't actually matter if you choose NTFS vs FAT32 but in some circumstances (when dealing with Windows) you would want to use NTFS over FAT32. It general comes down to volume size. On a flash drive it doesn't really matter. You'll have to use NTFS if you have large contiguous files.
And while you can use FAT32 on a disk larger than 32 GB it makes no sense to do so except for cost purposes. I know one instances of a cost reason, where a simulation company would use FAT32 on a 500 GB disk only because they needed to boot DOS and 500 GB was the smallest SATA disk available on the market.

According to a post on Reddit, the free space available on the E drive (partition 1) of an original Xbox after modding is approximately 50,000 blocks 1. One block is equivalent to 16 kilobytes 1.
If we assume that the Xbox’s hard drive has a capacity of 8 gigabytes 1, then the total number of blocks on the hard drive would be approximately 524,288 blocks. Therefore, the 50,000+ blocks available on the E drive would represent approximately 9.5% of the total blocks on the hard drive.
Please note that the above information is based on a post on Reddit and may not be accurate. It is also important to note that modding an Xbox may void its warranty and is not recommended by Microsoft 1.
