Anyone here a big anime fan?

Preferrably, "older" (30-40 year olds)?

Just wondering, cause the anime I got yesterday "Ghastly Prince Enma: Burning Up" is pretty damned hilarious...if you catch/understand the references to (Grateful Dead, the Eagles, Kiss, and tons & tons) of other references to music, pop-culture, movies, and tv shows from before (and up until) the end of the 80's...or so.

At any rate - my "personal" copy of the LE came w/ both Blu Ray and (standard) DVD discs (2 discs each) - I'd be willing to "Pay it forward" on the 2 regular DVD discs & package them together in one of the cases (I have 2 cases...each one has 1 blu ray & 1 dvd - I'd just combine the 2 dvd's into 1 case & keep the other for my blu ray copies)...

Like I said though - if you don't/won't get these older references...it will probably not be very enjoyable to you...at all :P

I'm actually a huge anime fan.  And I'm in my 30's =P

I've got an extra copy of Dragon Warrior for NES, just the cart, if anyone is actually looking for one.  I found it a few days ago in my trunk in the shed.  I've also got a few random items for TF2 that I gathered when I was giving the game a test try.  I doubt they are rare or anything, but anyone is welcome to them.

Sadly, my collect is still tiny so I don't really have a whole lot to offer to the thread.  :(

Classic Video Games / Re: Are retro games harder than current-gen?
« on: December 15, 2012, 04:02:41 am »
YES!  One of the big reasons I switched to retro games is because of the difficulty.  Most of my friends at school say that retro games are so easy and I should play real games like Halo.  I would like to see the looks on their face if they played something like Wizardry!  Of what I have played this is what I would consider to be the hardest and I am slowly making my way though it making my own maps.

You give me hope for our future.

Thank you.

Edit to add :  If you are playing Prooving Grounds of the Mad Overlord, Murphy's Ghost is the key to that game.  Lots and lots of killing Murphy's Ghost.

So, my first step to building the gamer room was complete today, or so I thought.  Managed to wall mount the new TV that was delivered.  Set up a PS2 to test out the picture.  Turned on the TV for the first time and found this :

Yep, a shattered LCD screen on the brand new TV.

Picked up a Super Game Boy today at a local retro game shop for $10.  Happily added to the collection.

Just picked up Valkyria Chronicles last night from Gamestop.  Loving the game.

I've been *trying* to buy games on Ebay.  But the sellers keep canceling my bids for some reason.  When I check their reason why they say Explanation: Miscellaneous Reason.  I try to contact them and ebay just gives me an error message with "the seller cannot answer your question" before I even get to ask it.  Its almost like these people are banning me from auctions or something and I have no idea why :(

Sorry for the initial confusion, I forget sometimes that not everyone knows my silly local slang ^^~

Due to my job, I'm actually getting pretty good with the English/Irish/Scottish slang, terms and accents.  Not that I can speak with the accents myself, but I can understand them a LOT more.

Except the thick Scottish ones.  Oi.  I think I need to be more drunk for those.

Yeah there is one of those Coinstar machines at the Walmart by the house. Amazon card would work for me (or whatever has the cheapest game Im looking at).

Just a heads up, the Coinstar machines in Wal-mart don't offer amazon.com ecerts.  We're not allowed to place machines in Wal-mart with an Amazon.com option due to our contract with Wal-mart (amazon being a major competitor for walmart and all that).

Final Fantasy IV.  The one game I could play forever and never get tired of it.

So the Wii U launched in Europe this week

Haven't had a chance to play ZombiU yet, but loving the New Mario Bros. U and Nano Assault Neo :)

That ZombiU is pretty "meh" as a single player game.  But doing the 2 player vrs mode is a BLAST.  Many hours spent filled with evil laughs by the zombie kings and horror filled shrieks by the players in our house.

For me it would be the SNES for sure.  My favorite system hands down.

As for a disliked system?  I'm not really sure I have one.. ?
