I will not be reaching 52 games this year, primarily because I decided to play 3-4 different massive open-world games which took way too long each time.  But I'm trying to fit in some smaller stuff here at the end of the year, so maybe I can bust 25?

1. Super Mario 3D World
2. Dark Souls III
3. The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
4. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
5. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
6. Dr. Mario
7. Nioh
8. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition
9. Wolfenstein: The New Order
10. Darksiders: Warmastered Edition
11. Tales from the Borderlands
12. Bloodborne (Childhood's Beginning)
13. Bloodborne (Yharnam Sunrise)
14. Fallout 4
15. Rocket League

It took almost two months to get to the end of The Witcher.  I got pretty much as close to 100% that you can get in a single playthrough.

I just got Karaoke Revolution Party for the GCN at a yard sale for 0.50.  Just couldn't pass it up.

No way I'm finishing 52 this year.  And then I decided to do The Witcher 3 next, like a dummy.

I've been playing Nioh.  I'm generally enjoying it, but it is not quite as good as I was hoping (granted my expectations were super high). It's definitely a lot more similar to Dark Souls than a lot of reviews were indicating, but there are definitely some aspects that they copied and probably shouldn't have, as well as some aspects that they would have done well to copy.  Enemy placement isn't quite as thoughtful and while I do miss an open world, I do like how the mission structure creates a more friendly way to just sit down and play for a little bit.

I don't ever eat when I play anymore.  I find it just gets too messy, and I eat so quickly I can just take a break, eat a meal in 10 minutes and get back to the game.

Drinking however... whatever I have available.  Tends to be tea, but sometimes water, and even rarer still, booze.

Count me in the no contest camp.

Sonic is fine.  It's fun, and pretty good first game in the series, but Super Mario World is practically the peak of 2D platforming, and is a more well designed, better balanced, more complete game.  You could maybe -MAYBE- have a discussion if you were talking about Sonic 3 & Knuckles, but Sonic 1 vs SMW?  No even a contest.

So, I'm still really, really behind this year.

1. Super Mario 3D World
2. Dark Souls III
3. The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
4. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
5. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
6. Dr. Mario

I was trying to beat Ages and Seasons before Breath of the Wild, but Ages was WAY more in depth than I expected.  The GF and I are also about to finish Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.  It's been much better couch co-op since we upsized our TV.

I only have one game beat :( Though it's not my fault I picked a 70+ hour game to play haha
Almost the exact same issue for me.  I got 100% completion on Super Mario 3D World, but I started it over the Christmas break.

Then I just finished Dark Souls III.  Probably right at 70 hours of game time between both of them.  I am WAY behind so far this year.

Super Mario 3D World.  I got all flag pole tops and all stars, and beat all levels as Peach.  I'm only missing the stamps for completing the game as ever character, and I'm not going to do that.  It's just silly.

I thought the game was way easier than its reputation.  Only three levels in the entire game gave me any trouble.  The final mystery house, the last beat block level, and Champion's Run.  And Champion's Run was mostly because I had trouble with the beat blocks, and once I got that rhythm down it wasn't that bad.  Especially after I went in with two Tanooki suits.  Soared right through it.

It is definitely a fun game, but I found myself pretty underwhelmed compared to the amount of praise I've heard it get.

Now that you have every level unlocked, can't you just go and beat the final stage with every character to get the stamps?
I wish.  You have to beat every stage with every character.  That's just a time sink I don't want to deal with.

I'm off to a slow start, because all of those dumb stars, but Super Mario 3D World.

After beating the God of War trilogy I moved on to Super Mario 3D World.  I'm aiming for the full 380 stars, and all stamps, except for maybe the ones that require beating each stage with every character.

I've been sitting on the God of War Collection for ages.  I beat the first game back when it came out, but that was all.  I decided that I wanted to play through the core trilogy.  I've beaten Pat I and II so far, and the second game blew me away with how much better it is than the first.  It's almost an Assassin's Creed to Assassin's Creed II level of difference.  I just passed Helios in Part III.  There are few design changes that keep throwing me off since I am playing them back-to-back (they moved the placement of the prompt buttons and I keep missing when they pop up).  Some aspects actually feel kind of proto-Souls in a way, but it is also kind of ludicrous and laughable in the violence and "bro-ness" off it all.  Still really fun though.
