Marketplace / Looking for My Dearest Pikachu Lapel Pins
« on: April 21, 2016, 11:59:34 am »
I am looking to buy these 2 Pikachu lapel pins shown in the link. They will be used in a future proposal so please if you have them both please consider this. These are the only pics I have been able to find of them so the chance may be low but if you or someone you know own them please leave a comment or pm me and we will work out the price. Additionally any links to a place I can purchase on would be greatly appreciated.

They are the 1st and 4th image and to the best of my knowledge they were only available in Pokemon Centers in japan during 2014.

I have been running into an issue that seems to be happening more and more (or im just noticing it more) sometimes when you add an item into your collection it will duplicate it so 2 items show up. Are their any attempts being made to stop this kind of glitch?

Off Topic / weird/strange collections
« on: December 08, 2015, 02:21:00 pm »
Im wondering If you or someone you know has what would be considered a weird or strange collection (anything non-video game related). It can be anything that you can think of so long as you or the person collecting whatever it may be considers it a collection. also if you would add any information about the collection and and reasoning behind it.

For me I knew a guy that was big into preserving and collecting flowers and grasses. He even had a binder with card sleeves that he stored blades of grass from EVERY lawn and park in the city (even some that were private property) and from different times throughout the year and lengths from freshly cut to the longest he ever saw that particular lawn. I asked one time why he collected them and he told me that he believes It speaks volumes about the people who's lawn it is from how busy/lazy they are, to how much they care about the place they live, and could even give a fairly accurate estimation for how much a house would sell for based on the price asked and how well kept their lawn and the lawns around them were. He eventually went into real estate.

The jewels of his collections were blades of grass from some famous landmarks over in Europe (lives in the us).

Hardware and Tech / n64 water damaged cart
« on: September 30, 2015, 02:00:58 pm »
I have a N64 cart that the board for it is water damaged and no longer plays. The previous owner must have accidentally poured grape soda on it (it still smells of it and ive had it almost 2 months now)

Is there any way to rejuvenate the cart or is water damage fatal to it?

Hardware and Tech / Game Cube Disc Help
« on: September 24, 2015, 04:51:43 pm »
I recently got Mario sunshine for the game cube at a garage sale for $0.25 got it home and tried to play it on my wii just to see disc read error pop up. So I cleaned the disc and tried again same issue and even took it to a friends house that has a game cube same issue. what gets me about this is that the disc is not dirty, It passed the scratch test (hold the disc to a light source and if you can no longer see scratches it should work) and the label on the top of the disc is complete (none of the label is removed to kill the disc).

Is there an Issue with the discs that cause them to stop working?
Is it maybe a scratch that would not cause problems for a normal disc?
If so is there a way to fix it without a disc buffer?
Or is this game a lost cause?

General / Your take
« on: September 08, 2015, 06:04:43 pm »
So I have the opportunity to buy a wholesale lot of ~2000 (according to him 2036) ps2 games with ~800 (834 according to an itemized list he has) individual titles for a little less than a buck a peice but the kicker obviously that the items are 100% untested and 100% disc only. The owner has NOT gone through the titles and taken out the expensive games and claims all have light to heavy scratches with no cracks and sent me a few picks of just the front side of just some of the games, some had stickers, scratches, and some had part of the front label removed. The seller accumulated these items from places like video game stores/video rental stores/ect that went out of buisness in my area and has been holding onto them hoping the video game market would go up in price so he could sell them for more but has become tired of waiting. I know this person, not personally but a good friend of a good friend of mine, so I know he will not screw me over and me and my good friend will be allowed to count them and make sure they are all games and not videos.

I have the money to outright buy it all but also do not feel comfertable spending all that money. I have a very good relationship with my local gaming store and will be selling them ALL WORKING DUPLICATES if I go through with this.

So my question is do you think there will be any upside to this?like will I be able to make my money back? Or should I avoid this deal?

and no Individuals he has it set in his mind that he wants to get rid of them all as they are taking up aLOT of space.

If you feel like I may have left out any necicary details please say something and I will add what i know.

EDIT:

He is asking $2,000 even for it but says if the count isnt exactly 2036 then hed minus the difference. So a quick calculation is 98.23 cents a peice but i suspect he will take a buck for each missing to make it easier.

As for preference I would test each game I intend to keep/sell and buy blank cases for the working ones I would keep. Sell the working doubles loose and probobly keep the ones that dont work because I intend to get a disc buffer If I buy this, just to see if I can get them to work. and at that point throw out/give away what does not work.

General / Would you ever consider this?
« on: August 20, 2015, 03:20:08 pm »
My local gameing store has had a copy of conkers bad fur day for almost 2 months now. When I first saw it the label was almost completely tore off and it had thick black permanent marker over where the label was, spelling out "Kronker". Well 2 weeks ago I went back in there and the same cart was still sitting in the case but only this time the label was in emaculate shape like it had just come out of the box. I know it was the same cart because you could see very faintly parts of "Kronker" still under the label.

So my question is from a collecting point of view would you ever consider doing something like this to your collection, or ever knowingly purchase an item that has had something like this done to it?

Also if you noticed something like this happen would you ever return to that store?

Im trying to enter in my weekend gaming scores into my collection but every single thing that should take me to a different part of the site (quick search, collection, browse, ect) all redirect me to the feed tab. The only links that are working for me is working are all the forum stuff.

Site Feedback / Request for a new feature
« on: May 31, 2015, 12:59:45 pm »
I am starting to get so many games that it's getting hard for me to pick a game that I would like to play, so my request is for a feature to do it for me. A simple button that searches through all my logged games and randomly picks one out.

Thank You.

Hardware and Tech / Sega game gear
« on: February 17, 2015, 01:50:43 pm »
Hello everyone i have had a Game Gear for a long time now but its hasnt been able to turn on in about 3 years now. I read that the issue its experiencing is the corrosion of the capacitors and every capacitor would need replacing but i have been unable to find a list of all necisary compoonents anywhere. can someone post a list of all capacitors with store locations to find them or someplace that may offer an all in one replacement kit, Or would it just be more cost effective if i went out and bought another game gear?

I have no soldering experience but my brother has extensive experience with it and said he will fix it free if i am able to find all the components.

Thank you in advance!!
