I'm glad I bought it CIB a couple months ago when I stumbled on it at my local game store. Got it for $35. I don't have the outer carton box though.

I do it also. I've got a couple of PS Vita games but I haven't bought the system yet. I'm waiting either for a good deal, or a bundle with a game I find interesting.

Holy Bill Nye the Science Guy covered in Molasses!
Was feeling crappy from being sick and got a late start hitting the streets for garage sales.
Thinking "well, I'm not going to find much." and low and behold after many sales of just average game finds I come across this.
A sale had a box full of games and the lady told me I could have it all for $5. I was like ya sold.
Then when I told her i was happy about finding video games she said "wait here I might have something you want."
So I waited and she brings out a Huggies box, and when I saw what was inside I almost emptied my bowels right there.
When I asked how much? she said $10. I really almost made a mess in my pants.
What is it you ask? he he, I'll let you know later after I hit some sales tomorrow. but here's a pic of the boxes.  :P

How do you keep Vgcollect in suspense? I'll tell ya tomorrow...  ::)

This is SO not cool.
Come back here and open those boxes! :P

Nice batch of Wii games! I have been on the lookout for Arc Rise for a long time. I found a copy for $20 a while back, but passed on it. Kind of kicking myself now.

I've actually never seen Arc Rise Fantasia at the video game store I used to work at (or any other stores where I live) and neither from people on Kijiji. That's why I jumped on it.

I agree - the signed Tales is extra-cool.  :D

Yea! This is the first time I see something signed. It's pretty cool!

Didn't go on a hunt this weekend but I still found someone selling games I've been wanting for a while, so I bought these!

 - Arc Rise Fantasia
 - Tales of Symphonia : Dawn of the New World
 - The Last Story Limited Edition

Got them for 75$ and Tales' disk is signed by the voice actor of Emil!

I've worked in a gaming store similar to GameStop for a year and a half and I've seen a couple of trades between customers right on the counter. Personally, it didn't bother me at all and I never asked them to go outside. Most of the time, I talked with them both and gave them information/value of the games they were trading as they asked for my advices and if it was a fair trade haha. I mean, I was not the manager, simply a part-time as I was still going to school back then, so I didn't care much. I'm not losing money, clients are happy, they will come back and buy again anyway and to be honest, I didn't really care if the store didn't get the games as they were generally not rare/interesting games.

My boss never complained about it either. It's not as if it happens all the time, or a dude just keeps filtering people coming in to get all the games before the store.
The only thing our boss ever said was that we should not personally offer money to a client before he knows how much the store offers and declines that said offer. Then, if we wanted to offer, we could, but we had to do the trade outside our working hours. I haven't personally offered to a client but one of my coworkers did twice if I remember right and he just met up with the client over the weekend to get the games. The boss knew about it but it was okay with him.

Honestly, I really encourage this, as it makes both parties pretty happy. This way, the person coming in to sell their games gets more money and the buyer gets a good deal. Win win situation and I get to chitchat with happy customers. Win win win situation.

Also, I've had people coming in to trade Zelda, Mario Party, Mario Kart, Pokémon, etc. games on the GameCube pretty often and we were giving $0.10 (no, that's not a typo, yes, it is 10 cents) store credit (back when the store focused only on new games and was trying to get rid of GameCube, Xbox and PlayStation 2 games. Now they don't do this anymore haha). Most of them agreed on that cheap offer as they didn't know the value of their games. I always told them something along those lines : "Are you seriously going to trade in those games for $0.10 each? You may not know this, but your games are worth a fair bit of money, you should probably take a look online or at another store that is more specialized in retro/old games as we, unfortunately, focus on recent games.", and generally, they were pretty happy about it and thanked me for my honesty.

So yeah, in the end, I guess it all depends on how you perceive it and how the store clerk does.

Haii!

I went to two flea markets this weekend close to where I live that I didn't know existed. Apparently, they take place every 6 months at the school I attended when I was 13-14. So, seeing as many people here get good stuff from flea markets, I had high hopes (plus, we rarely have flea markets other than 1 opened all year long which is about a 30 minutes drive from where I live so I don't go very often). Unfortunately, there was only 2-3 games on sale and they were Xbox's sports games.

So I decided to make a little road trip with one of my gaming friend to all the game stores we had time to go (we were able to go to 6). So here's what I got this weekend!

Pretty happy with Rush and Road Rage, I've been looking for them for a while. I loved those games when I was young so I can't wait to play them again.
Also found Kid Icarus and Y's CE brand new which I'm also really happy about.

And here's what I got in the mail today! Demon Gaze CE! :D

Site Feedback / Re: New option after searcing for a game

Matt have you looked into Elasticsearch or Lucene? They're basically free/open source full-text search engines. From what I've been told they're pretty good. I'm no expert so I'm not sure how hard it would be to integrate it into your site.

I second that. We're using Lucene at work and so far it's been working well.

Unfortunately, I think I'll have to pass on this as I never pay cash, so I'm not getting any change other than the nickels I find on the ground haha.
