So I was looking over my NES collection while I was working on my Game Room and it got me thinking about how I never really beat any of them. Either, because I was too young and got easily frustrated, or they were just too damn hard.
That made me wonder what games other folks have finished for the system. Or if anyone else is in the same boat as me.
Out of 38 games that I own, minus the games that have no end (like Pinball) and not looking at games I've rented or borrowed, I've only finished:

NES is the system I fell in love with gaming on. My older sister had an Atari 2600 that I played, before having the NES, but it never held my attention for long. The NES, you'd have to pull me away from, though. So I've beaten a LOT of NES games:

I finished a lot of them when I was a kid. There are only a handful that I've finished since I've been grown. And I won't count the ones I used the Game Genie on.
I put an Asterisk by the ones I finished as an adult.

Are we only counting games beat without a Game Genie? Because that significantly shrinks my list :)
I have beaten TMNT (yes, the original) but only with a Game Genie. Once you try it you'll know why it won't appear on any 'NES games beat' list - the # of bad-guys that swarm you at the end is INSANE! TMNT 2 & 3 are trivial by comparison, and they'll likely show up on every 'NES games beat list'.

to be honest, i have never beaten a 8 or 16 bit game and there's two reasons
(1) my 2D platforming skills are vary rusty
(2) i have lost all interest in 8 or 16 bit gaming, i'm gonna be selling most of my nes and gen collection in the next 1 or 2 months

The only NES game I've beaten is Metroid, and that was the version you can unlock in Metroid Prime using Metroid Fusion. I also used the Narpas Sword code, so it probably really doesn't count. :-[

Off the top of my head, if it wasn't made by Capcom and starring Disney characters, I probably haven't beaten it. But I think I've taken down most of those.

Off the top of my head...Super Mario Bros, 2, 3, Legend of Zelda, and probably only a couple others. Kinda funny now that I look back at it, I've dabbled and played all sorts of games on the NES, but rarely did I beat the games. It's why when anyone says that the only good gaming days were the classic ones, I politely disagree in certain areas lol The longer I've been in gaming, the more time I've put into the current gaming of the time and it's increased with every generation I've played in.

I am only counting ones I have beaten without Game Genie or cheats involved (which I hardly use, I like beating games without cheating no matter how hard it may be).

The trick to this one is to get to him with the jump and slash summersault ability. 1-2 hits and he's dead. :)
