They always seem to have sealed cases of stuff. They were selling a few sealed cases of DQVIII for the PS2 for a while ... probably still are.

That's just madness ($(C)20,000 for 12 copies)) = more than $(C)1,500.00 per piece.

They've never been that hard to find sealed on Amazon for ~ $100 - $150 (same item still sealed).

The meaning of life is 42 if anyone was wondering.

I just saved someone $1500.00 and my good deed for the week is done.

It's a personal thing. Look deep inside yourself and ask, "What does the number 42 mean to me?" When you've found the answer you have your own, personal meaning of life.

For the money that they're asking for it...that "piece of paper" in the box better be a green, rectangular, piece of paper currency w/ 4 digits on it :P

Glad to see so many Hoopy Froods!!

And go ahead, Google "the answer to life, the universe, and everything." Even Google knows what's up.

Not really, 42 is actually the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything. No one knows what the question is though since the computer calculating that got blown up (and "errors" were inputted into it). Maybe the question is "what is the meaning of life?", maybe it's "how many video games must one own to truly be happy?" (though we know that answer is clearly higher than 42), but no one knows.

Lots of info about that here (there be spoilers here):

I see that this auction is still listed.

If you send the entire case to VGA, you can get these graded as "uncirculated", which will inevitably be more desirable for collectors. If the boxes aren't banged around inside, each of these games should get a gold rating (85+ or higher), which is also the goal for most VGA collectors.

$1500 definitely seems too high for a reseller. There is no room for profit. You can currently buy a VGA 85 copy for less than $500. The seller of this sealed case would need to add the "best offer" button to get any nibbles. The price would currently have to be around $6000 to see a reasonable profit.

I wonder how he came across this, but it's way too expensive for what it is.

The meaning of life is 42 if anyone was wondering.

I thought the meaning of life was that matter is energy. In the universe there are many energy fields which we cannot normally perceive. Some energies have a spiritual source which act upon a person's soul. However, this "soul" does not exist ab initio as orthodox Christianity teaches; it has to be brought into existence by a process of guided self-observation. However, this is rarely achieved owing to man's unique ability to be distracted from spiritual matters by everyday trivia.

No... wait...
That wasn't right. Sorry.

It's that people aren't wearing enough hats.
