Title: is the led on my genesis dying on me

is the led on my genesis dying on me i'm asking this because the red led is not vary bright it's very faint

Possibly, but it's more likely that you have a power issue somewhere.

Yeah, LED's generally don't burn out unless you run too much power to it.  Even then, they go out instantly,  they don't go dim first.  Replace the AC adapter and see if that fixes it.  If that's not the problem, it's probably the voltage regulator.
