Title: Getting 404 Not Found for 2 Days
Post by: BinaryMessiah on October 28, 2024, 05:10:03 pm
I've been getting this error "Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later." Every couple of clicks and the only temporary fix is clearing all of my cache in Chrome. This has been happening for the last two days now. If I don't get that error I just get a 404 Not Found. I'm not sure if this is on my end or the server.

I just wanted to back up what BinaryMessiah has said, I've been experiencing this for the past few weeks. Site has been very slow to load, and sometimes it 404 error's out completely.

Thanks for looking into the issue.

Diddy + elections F'in up US-Internet?  ???

The problems the site's been experiencing have been recurring since January and aren't exclusive to the United States, so no.

I've also noticed certain times when the issues are more likely to occur, namely the weekend in the morning time based on US time. The more active you are on the site, the more likely you're to experience loading issues.

Just wanted to bump this thread. The database is becoming almost unusable at this point. It takes nearly 30-45 seconds each time I load a different page of my collection.  Browsing the forum is perfectly fine however, despite still receiving the error message stated above.  Is there anything that can be done please?

Thanks,
Retromangia

Yeah it's getting really difficult to use for the last 2 weeks or so again. Trying to edit items for my collection is really difficult and accepting/denying any edits is really tough when it keeps throwing you the error.
