Title: Notification
Post by: matt on January 31, 2011, 10:31:48 am
I'm working in a Facebook-style notification system that will alert you of the status of your submissions. Right now there is no way to confirm that any of your edits or submissions have been verified. Expect more on this soon.

Seems to work fairly nice. Only I think dates should prolly be listed as a single notification.

Good but just FYI, you are the only user that can see them right now.

These seem to working properly. I'll be rolling them out right now to everyone. Let me know if there are any issues.

Looks like they work nicely now that they are really real. Ha.

Where do I find these notifications?

If you have any they will show up at the very top of your main collection page. If not, you'll see nothing.

My list of old notifications is getting a bit long. Is there a way to add a delete function to the old messages, or a decay timer of some sort. So they don't pile up?

My notifications are working as of today.  All of the items I have submitted have not been verified though.  Is there something I should be doing to make them verified?

As far as edits go, either @Matt of myself have to approve each by hand. But if you mean the actual "verified" listing on the game's info box. I'm not sure how Matt is handling it yet.

The original intent for the verified flag was that an admin can set it once a game has complete info. Once it is set, the game can no longer be edited. This is separate from the notification system.

Gotcha, I was wondering how all that worked.

I've decided to simply delete all old notifications. They will be there for a one time read and then removed from the system.
