My PS3 quest continues. I've discovered Canadians have certain games cheaper and many share NA versions. Even with conversion rates, import fees included and shipping ive gotten offers of as low as 10 dollars off a similar American copy.

Hit 300 PS3 games officially. Its crazy to think just how massively amazing the library is because I only have maybe 20 games id consider shovelware. And thats only if you consider Just Dance and madden games to be.
Today I got a lot of 8 games from a San Mesa thrift store. All in Japanese. I had to use google gemini to even read the titles. (I knew the franchises)
These include

All with protectors and some sealed and new. For 3.25 a game! My logic was. I didnt care if they were unplayable in English because that's just cool.
Upon research
1. Dragons Dogma has full English subs and dialogue options in the menu
2 the blazblue games do not have English support but are typical fighting games that are easy to guess and navigate.
3. Yakuza on the other hand is dialogue riddled and will require translation apps to understand plot and objectives
I'll take that.

Bought another copy of Motostorm (PS3) off eBay. We'll see if this one works. I also spotted a mint copy of the Killzone Collection (PS3) at a local Gamestop. I'll probably pull the trigger on that mid-month.

Are you wanting Spider-Man: Web of Shadows specifically for PlayStation 3, or do you just want to play it in some form? The Wii version is identical and garnered similar review scores from what I've read, and it's a fraction of the current market value for a PlayStation 3 copy.

Really? I'll look into that. I am not fully locked into PS3 only. In fact I was even browsing the 360 copies which sadly have also skyrocketed into the 100s. The PS3 version also doesnt have trophy support so it would be of no lose to play it elsewhere. Thanks for this info. I will maybe watch gameplay. I am shocked the Wii is able to port it with good reception. I am intrigued by the symbiotic plot lines and overall eerie vibe of it. But not enough to pay 250 bucks and such.

And I just ordered the The Best of Classic Game Room Laser Hyper Vision Blu-Ray Album Set (yes, that is the actual name of it). It's a 4-disc collection of episodes, of the documentary, and various extras.
I'm currently backing up my entire physical movie collection to hard drive, so that's gonna be a great addition. And I can run them using my PC as a personal server and have my own personal streaming service.

For the Sonic Adventure games, it does fly in the face of my preference on physical media, however, I don't have a Dreamcast or a Gamecube right now and the pair cost a total of $15. I'm expecting to buy a Gamecube again and at that point will buy the physical versions, but for now, this allows my son to enjoy them before they become inaccessible once the PS3's PSN shuts down.
Incredibly happy to have a working version of both Motorstorm and Unreal Tournament 3. Both are simply really fun to play.

I've been slowing down my collecting since about June because I'm trying to build up a good financial safety net. I'm trying to limit myself to 2 games and no more than $70 per month for now. Obviously if a great deal pops up I'll make an exception, but that's how it will be until the end of the year. Probably early next year I'll get back into collecting full-force, I want to try to finish my collection before prices start going up for 8th and 9th gen.

The final PS3 game I'm hunting for the rest of the year is Mortal Kombat 9 Komplete Edition with the black label with everything. So far, I've only been able to find it without the manual. Everything else has been the Greatest Hits red versions and most of those don't have the manual either. *sigh.
To clarify, I'll continue buying PS3 games to round out the list next year, but need to catch up on this amazing backlog that I binge purchased.
EDIT: Found a copy in descent condition with the black label and a near mint disc. If the disc works well, I'll have to buy a manual separately.

I wish I knew you didnt need a manual. I found an item in box copy for 15 with room for negotiation yesterday. I hope you enjoy. Gen 7 has slightly bubbled but its still mostly cheap for the entry titles and its a blast to collect for. Imo Gen 6, 7 and 8 are peak gaming.

I rarely post on these topics, but I wanted to add another way to capture a recent haul. I went to Seattle to visit family and came back with a few things. There were a bunch of game stores scattered throughout the city and outside the metro area.

Ive essentially done too much and am aware that the hobby needs a good cool down period for me for September for sure.... There comes a line where it stops feeling good and starts feeling like addictive and gluttonous. I went full haul mode on Gen 7 and in the month of August ive purchased 197 games, 3 consoles and 7 controllers. Which by my estimate sunk my entire discretionary savings fund and is gonna take a while to replenish. But I suppose it was put aside for this sorta thing.... But I really am gonna be reflective of this.

Xbox 360 Model S - I actually got this for free by accident. The usps lost my package for weeks. I put in a claim. Seller refunded me because the usps claim. And a bit later it arrives. My only hope is that the seller was already paid out on the package being missing or ebay sorted it with usps as I wouldnt want the seller to earn nothing. But either way. I paid nothing on that box. Perhaps i'll message the seller and make sure he's sorted for the sale.
Xbox 360 Model S (glossy) - got this one solely because the other one went missing. So now I have two. Just glad they look different.
my childhood 360 collection - Anything from halo, gears, viva, forza, pgr, cods, and all the titles that define that cinsole for the most part. I could have gotten lost odyssey but I dont like turn based rpgs
psp fun - Got some psp glory. Even 2 sealed games. I intend on opening them for asmr videos
Overall. Id say it was a wild month. Lots of health stuff with my family but God is good. I intend on selling doubles soon. If anyone here trades Gen 7 games message me because I may have stuff you like :)

I feel like it's been forever since I bought a newly released game. RE9 was the last one I think. Anyhow, I decided to pick up the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 on the PS5 today. I'm looking forward to playing through MGS4 for the first time.

Thanks! I should start doing the pickup pics more, I do like to catelog the mail hauls and seeing everyone else's.. My eyes got a bit bigger than my wallet this month lol. But what happened was I got my.Childhood Xbox 360 running and between online markets and local thrift that I didnt know about. One guy. I was seeing most of my childhood games for under 3 dollars per game. And just went absolute off the cliff with it. Nostalgia got me. I also adore PS3. In my opinion. Gen 7 is my favorite to collect for. It combines the modernity of new school HD with classic simplicity for the most part.
But here is some of the more recent PS3 games ive gotten. Outliers being order up (a kitchen management kinda game that im excited to try) and Remember me (a pretty unique 3rd person shooter) and Dantes Inferno which has a cool red metallic slip cover that I was able to get a gamestop sticker off without peeling it. Some of these are new pickups for PS3. Some have been here for a while.

Met up with a friend today, took a ride in his new Jeep, and we ended up going to a local used game store. They had some great deals, I got 3 games for around $33.

definitely kicking myself for not getting remember me right before the playstation news when it popped in a deal.
could have just added it to a set for like 10$ decided to skip it cause could prob find it even cheaper later :P
