Title: Separate game entries for downloade games from separate sites?
Post by: duffadash on July 23, 2012, 11:53:41 am
I own Telltale Texas Hold 'Em on Telltale's own site, should I add a separate entry for it, or should I use the steam one?
And what about other cases, where there's DRM-free versions, Steam versions or, I dunno, Origin versions?

It is really hard to say I mean we ave Steam, GreenManGaming, Amazon, and Direct2Drive(Gamefly) that provide instant games. If we were to add all four plus every smaller site it would get highly cluttered. I feel Steam deserves its own spot, but perhaps the other games should just be considered "PC"?

For downloads that don't fit anywhere else, we have the current PC Digital Download Section: http://vgcollect.com/browse/pcdigitalna

Yeah, that's how I usually go when I'm cataloging my PC games... If not Steam or retail, I mark it as pc digital download.

For generic digital downloads available at lots of places, I just add a generic entry.

For specific stores that have special content, I typically add the name of the store at the end. Such as (GOG.com).

So Telltale Hold'em would be a generic entry because it's available from a lot of digital stores.

Thanks, I'll add a general entry for it then.
