best finds I picked up from garage sales this year so far was...
- Mega Man 7 on SNES for $5.
- A Sega Saturn with 37 games and other accessories, with 2 Genesis systems and CD add-on in box with 20 games for $25.
- A Sharp Nintendo TV combo with both controllers.
Haven't had much luck with flea markets this year.
-
That's not much luck? Sounds pretty lucky to me. I've been looking for one of those Sharp TVs for a while
-
Garage sales yes i've had some lucky finds, I said Flea markets haven't had much luck. ;)

A bit ironic, considering your screen-name and all :o
-
Sadly I havent ever scored ANYTHING at a garage sale. As far as flea markets, Ive gotten a couple games a bit below fmv but not much else. Thrift stores Ive scored some and everything else seems to be just buying online or game stores (where you rarely make deals).
-
There are zero flea markets in my area, so most of my collecting comes from garage sales and thrift stores. Some of my best finds from the last couple of years:
Tomba 2! - $4
Diablo (rare PS1 version) - $1
FFVII - $3
Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition (GC promo, still sealed) $2
Final Fight CD - $3
Mega Man 7 - $5
Shadowrun (SNES - found in a dusty pawn shop) - $6
Soul Blazer - $0.50
Genesis model 1 - $2
Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 2 (XBox) - $3
-
I once picked up a complete copy of Alundra at a flea market for $5 a couple years ago.
-
The ones i can remember off the top of my head are,
Battletoads - $5.00
Battletoads in Battle Maniacs - $2.50
Kirby 64 The Crystal Shards - $5.00
Dragon Force - $7.00 - complete
Shining the Holy Ark - $7.00 - complete
Shining Force, Shining Force II, Shining Force CD - all complete - $8.00
-
I have gotten such great deals from yard sales and Garage sale that it is hard to just pick 1 or 2. Some of the best deals that I have gotten are:
Swordquest Waterworld Atari 2600 Cart only but cart is in brand new condition from flea market in Hanford Calif. $5
Sonic Adventure Limited Edition Dreamcast found 2 of these on same weekend, disc only. 1 was 25 cents the other 50 cents.
Shining force CD for the Sega CD Flea market for $3 CIB not a scratch on the disc.
Also at a local Yard sale I Found 23 Sega Saturn games for $10. that is what actually got my saturn collection going, which I still have to add to my collection.
-
Wow! You don't find many Waterworld carts in the wild!

I forgot the one that "got away"
Conker's Bad Fur Day - $8 I wasn't looking for games at the time, I think I was on the hunt for Magic: The Gathering cards. I left it sitting on the shelf. Oh stupid me.
-
Nothing at flea markets, but at garage sales I got a whole bunch of n6 games for $5. I also found a ps2 with 30 games for $40
I also once passed up most likely one of the greatest deals ever. A Sega genesis, Sega cd 32x and a giant box of games for $2. Such a shame.
-
Just got home from a day of garage sales and had another good find.
Found an Atari 5200 (4-plug) in original box and innards with 8 games (nothing rare) but what
made this a good find it also came with the 2600 game adaptor and a complete masterplay
5200 joystick Interface. if you don't know what this is, its an adapter so you can use any atari
2600 or Sega Genesis controller instead of the crappy one it comes with. This alone sells for
$50-90 on ebay. Got it all for $35 ;D
Now i can play my 5200 and use a Genesis controller yay.
-
Found some Bally Astrocade games still shrinkwrapped for $2 each, 15 games total. so I bought all he had, cause you dont see astrocade games in the wild very often......
-
Well geez, I need to go to the garage sales in your area haha I have low luck anywhere then, other than four years ago I got a Wii with 3 games for $40.
-
I wish that I had a find to contribute but I never seem to have luck at flea markets or garage sales :(
-
virtual boy CIB $20
Super Metroid CIB $10
Atari video Cube $2
theres been ton :P

A few weeks ago...
For 50 cents!
*Sealed* copy of Pokemon Yellow: Special Pikachu Version, and, at the same sale...
For $1.00 more, I bought:
A "Berry"-colored GBC.
(I had to take out the batteries & their corrosion, clean it up a bit, put some new batteries in it...and it works just fine :)
This GBC had Pokemon Gold already in the system, and loose (carts only in clear, plastic cases) of Frogger & Tetris - all wrapped-up in a nice little, yellow, "Pikachu-themed" GBC-"Pouch" that looks like it probably came as part of a Yellow: Pikachu's Special Version bundle, or something.
About a month earlier, I found 10 PSX games @ $1.00/each (Including FF VII, VIII, IX, Legend of Dragoon, X-Files, Resident Evil: Director's Cut), etc.
I've probably been to ~100 or so worthless sales before I hit those 2 sales, though...
-
Sega GT 2002/ Jet Set Radio Future & Star wars:Jedi Knight Jedi Academy- $7
first Flea Market find
-
I picked up Sunday Funday (NES) for $3.00 and then found the box for free.
-
Today I picked up a working Sega Game Gear with a case and 8 games for $20. Don't know if it's a good find or not, but I'm pleased lol
-

Sounds like a good deal to me. 2 bucks a game and then 4 bucks for the system and case.
@nesaddict85, that's a great deal!
Also welcome to the site guys!
-
Action 52 for a quarter
30-ish NES games and that I didn't have, plus the system, controllers, etc for $5
A SNES for a dime
Too many to count, really. Even things like getting No More Heroes for $2 a few houses over seems to be forgotten over time.
-
I recently picked up working Commodore 64 at Goodwill for only $4! Best video game score of all time!
I once traded a fellow board member on ComicCollectorLive.com some comics for his PS2 and few games. For free he sent along a black-label release of Final Fantasy VII on PS1, which wasn't part of the deal. When I mentioned it to him, he said to keep it. Awesome deal!
-
i was given a vitrual boy a sega CD and a game gear after the guy realised how passionate i was about games.
-
another thing would be Silent Hill on the PS1 for $1. it's always good to look in the CD/DVD bins at the flea markets.
-

I second that. I got my Gamecube Twilight princess for like $2 from a pawn store cause it was mixed in with all the DVDs.

Lol it sees to come in waves. I have periods of horrible luck while hunting, sometimes lasting months, and then all of the sudden I find so much stuff for so cheap I still almost run out of game money :p. I am currently in a sweet spot though, having found Earthbound on New Years for extremely cheap, and today I found a brand new Japanese PS2 console for $60. Hope this wave lasts a bit longer. . or forever would be nice :p
-
Last week at one local pawnshop:
Super Smash Bros Melee: $1 (complete)
Super Mario Sunshine and other super smash bros melee (disk only): $2
Lufia, King of dragons, Joe and Mac 2, Zelda and many other for the snes: $2 each one

Haha, I sure hope so for you. I've had waves of luck too, but maybe a little less good deals than these. Recently I've gotten at top 50% off the usual market price, but that's still better than nothing ;D
