Title: Good shmups for the snes?

As we all know, the genesis has some great shmups ex: MUSHA, truxton, whiprush 2222 etc. but, are there any good ones on the snes Besides gradius and super aleste?

I'm a fan of Darius Twin and Earth Defense Force. I'm big into shmups as well and have always meant to search for more SNES ones too. So I'm interested in this list and people's opinions.

Also, I've heard Axelay is pretty good. But I've not played it.

Yeah! some good cheaper ones Super R-Type and Gradius 3, if you can get over the slowdown

Biometal is OK but the 2 Unlimited soundtrack is annoying.

It's nice to see that there are some good titles out there. One of my favorite genres is shmups, and without any good ones on a console, I usually go for the other console with the better shooters.
