Came with a nifty hard case. The cover is actually the original box, cut to size. I like the idea. I've tried to find more black cases such as this, but it seems they are only currently available in clear.

Totally. Once I went looking for a battery for a Pokewalker and I looked at the number on it and left, figuring I would just remember it... nope. Luckily it was only to Walmart and I needed a few other things, so it wasn't a wasted trip.

So I bought some more PS2 games today. My plan is to purchase games by console and once I complete that, move on to another console until my collection is "complete" (ie. until I have all the games I want!) but I keep finding games and adding them to the list so I'm stuck on the PS2 right now. heh. Anyway another mini-haul:
Phantom Brave
Shining Force Neo
Shining Force EXA
Drakengard 2
Tsugunai: Atonement
Shadow of Destiny
Wild Arms 3
Stella Deus
Suikoden Tactics
Ys: The Ark of Napishtim
Clock Tower 3
Grim Grimoire
Obscure: The Aftermath

Nothing too special, but got a few games today:
Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance (GBA) Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest (SNES) and Paladin's Quest (SNES)
Hopefully I'll come home with a few more finds tomorrow as I'm going out of town and plan on visiting a few game shops.

I took a little excursion with some friends through Arkansas this weekend and picked up about 12-15 titles. The highlights (best deals) were probably:
R-Type: Delta (PS - Complete) - $10.00 Adventures of Batman & Robin (SNES - Cart) - $5.00 Brain Dead 13 (Saturn - Complete) - $10.00 Astro Boy: Omega Factor (GBA - Complete) - $10.00
We stopped at the place that the guys at Game Chasers did a video on earlier this year. It was pretty neat. The owner let us go upstairs and see the stuff that's not on display in the store.

Tradewind and Game Room Trading Post were the only two that were not a Vintage Stock or Game eXchange. The prices in Arkansas were better than in OK at every Game eXchange. We had several other shops on the list but time wasn't our best friend. We hit up 15-20 different places in about 36 hours. We also stopped by a few places in Tulsa, OK on the way back to OKC.

I bought a complete Scooby-Doo Mystery for the Genesis for three bucks. The seller had other games (Sonic 1 NFR, Krusty's Super Fun House, Desert Strike, Beavis and Butthead, Altered Beast) but they were either not complete (missing the manual) or just... didn't seem interesting enough. Or I beat them before. :p
I hate Scooby-Doo but this looks just like a PC adventure game, so I figured at three bucks it was worth trying it out.

Broke down and picked up The Walking Dead this weekend... I was kinda hoping it would be more "harmless" adventure point-and-click and less "watch-out-or-you're-going-to-die" point-and-click, but after talking my boyfriend into playing it for me while I watched, it's pretty well done.
I'm still a wimp when it comes to horror games, but I might play this one through again by myself (since I'll know what to expect and the decisions made throughout affect the game) once we finish it together.

Flea Market Find! $30 for all 5 wasn't too bad. Pac-Man even had a beat-up box. Donkey Kong is missing the marquee, but I think I can make one. So, Pac-man with the box, Donkey Kong Jr., Donkey Kong, Galaxian, an Q*bert tabletop arcades. Pretty awesome stuff.

Yeah, I had a bit of trouble finding it myself, I took a while for me to find it. One time I THOUGHT I found it, but I was being stupid and forgot Double Dragon V existed (for good reason, honestly)... only when I got back home did I realize my mistake.

Also, I just got my PS3 copy of Sony Smash (yes, I know it's called Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale... but I'll call it Sony Smash forever). I just wonder... it comes with a downloadable copy of the Vita version, I guess I should I add that to my collection as well?

I perused my local GS today to hopefully find something for the B2G1 deal they have going on for the holidays but didn't really find anything. I saw they still had a stack of last month's multi-cover Game Informer, so I asked if the manager if they'd be willing to give the Ni No Kuni one to me since my subscriber cover had something different on it. Easy enough score.
At least I didn't leave empty-handed!

I'll probably get up off of my ass & go do a bit of "Black Friday" browsing/shopping & looking around in a bit.
During the ~3 weeks that I couldn't access the Internet at all, I did still manage to hit-up a few gaming stores (1 or 2 of them that weren't "regulars" for me).
I'll list (what I remember) of the things that I bought while I was 'gone' in a minute...
First, I just want to say that, the "best" of my finds here ("best" being *relative* here - no extremely rare/valuable games for a buck or 2, or anything like that); at a pawnshop/"Quick-Cash" type of store that I'd been to several times before.
I guess that I bought a total of ~10 items here this time -BUT- only 2 or 3 of them were visible/displayed anywhere on the floor and/or in any of their display cases ???
I'm not really sure *why* I hadn't thought of doing this before, but, for the hell of it - I asked the manager if they had any *Other* video games for sale that *Weren't* Visible to me/from the floor...I was expecting a "No, everything that we have is already out" -or- maybe a "Well, maybe a few that just came-in that haven't been 'processed' yet".
Instead, to my gleeful surprise, he answered:
"Well, actually...we DO"! "They're a little more expensive than most of what's on the floor, but, we also sell games on-line; and there's probably 100 or so in the back" ::)
At any rate, he then invited me behind the counter (to give me a view of his computer screen) & asked me to give him some system names & genres to sort by. Like I said, iirc, ~7 out of the 10 things that I walked out with were things that I only knew about from looking at the screen w/ him. This also gave me the other (*Unheard* of) advantage of not only seeing the "Secret"/"Invisible"/"Bonus Content" inventory listed on his screen...but...by looking closely & quickly enough - I was also able to see how much *they* paid for the game(s) in question.
Quick example:
A PS2 copy of Wizardry: Tale of the Forsaken Land for the PS2 (Mint/Missing only the manual). As some of you may know, this is a pretty hard-to-find one for the PS2.
Instead of simply asking him "how much is it" - I instead asked: "Huh. I see you got this game for $4.99; so, I suppose that you'll sell it to me for, say, *Double* that, right"? - (He did *AND* ended up also giving me a 10% discount on my total)!!!
Not only would I have paid well over $10 for it, but, I'm sure that if I hadn't seen/didn't know how much it cost them, that he would have happily, w/o a 2nd thought, *charged* me much more than that ;)
Just taking the time to type all of this to let the rest of ya' know that this may be worth trying at some of your local stores, too :P
Anyway, off of the top of my head, some of the things that I remember buying those weeks are:
1). XCOM: Enemy Unknown (PS3/NA), 2). F.E.A.R. 2 (PS3/NA), 3). F.E.A.R. 3 (PS3/NA), 4). Rise of the Argonauts (PS3/NA), 5). Golden Axe: Beast Rider (PS3/NA), 6). Valkyria Chronicles 2 (PSP/NA), 7). Wizardry: Tale of the Forsaken Land (PS2/NA), 8. The Legend of A'Lon Dar (PS2/NA), 9). Grand Theft Auto 2 (PSX/NA), 10). Disney's Atlantis (PSX/NA), 11). Paper Mario Sticker Star (3DS/NA), and 12). " " Strategy Guide.
I feel like I'm forgetting some, but, oh well...that pretty much catches-me-up for the last couple of weeks :)

Came home w/ one new game...the pS3-version of the Zone of the Enders HD Collection.
I've added the rest of the "missing fields" that weren't filled-in the the game's description -but- I noticed that the pics are still "RP" (pre-release) ones...if someone/anyone would be so kind as to add the correct & updated pic for this game (the Non-Collector's Edition-Version)...I'd greatly appreciate it :)
Thanx!

Eww. Be careful with that. They have slightly larger pins than the standard memory cards and have a tendency to go in harder than a usual cart. And, they take quite a bit of force to pull out of the slot when you go to remove it.

I was deliberating on that one as one of the few 360 games I still need... Let me know if it's worth it!
Picked up more than I thought I would this afternoon from Gamestop (but missed out on making the most of the B2G1 deal this weekend): (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8477/8219253487_4365948c25_z.jpg)
- from the branch that never seems to have anything I want:
Trauma Center: Under the Knife (http://vgcollect.com/item/3270)
I tried to make it to a 3rd branch before having dinner with my parents but they closed 2 hours earlier than the website said they would! Not a huge deal as I just wanted to pick up a $5 pre-owned game from them, but still irritating.

So...what, exactly is the difference(s) between the 'regular' PS2 .Hack games and the "GU" PS2 .Hack games?

They are two entirely different series. G.U. takes place a few years after regular .hack. there are a few things in G.U. that relate to regs, but its entirely playable w/o knowledge of the first series. Actually .hack is a huge media franchise and there are multiple anime, manga and short stories about The World. I have most of it all and could prolly go on and on about it.

Picked up a complete copy of Advance Wars (GBA) this evening along with a few complete Saturn titles. The most notable of the Saturn titles is Virtual-On.

My biggest interest was in what differentiates the vanilla from the GU games.
Mainly, because I saw a "trilogy" for sale @ ~$100 (sealed) and a "quadrilogy" for sale @ ~$120 (sealed).
Also, color me interested & feel free to post/PM me w/ info about the 2 sets of games ;)

That's a decent price considering that a sealed copy of volume 4 alone just went for $130: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Playstation-2-Hack-Part-4-Quarantine-dvd-included-BRAND-NEW-SEALED-/160925571061?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item2577e957f5

Wow!
That *IS* Interesting...
I guess that I'd better go talk to my friend who's selling them again - maybe I'm (mistakenly) thinking that these two 'sets' were sealed *OR* I could also be mixing-up/confusing them w/ some other items that he's selling that are sealed...
I only own one .Hack game -and- that's .hack//Infection (w/ iirc, an anime "Luminality" disc) which I only bought because it was:
1). Like $9.99 and 2). Part of a B2G1 at Gamestop.
Either way (meaning even if these 2 sets are not sealed)...are these prices anything special?

And if the 1st one of the G.U. series is the special edition, it can easily go for $150-200 too.

That's exactly like me!... almost. For me it was FF2 on the SNES (AKA the same game), and Super Mario RPG... I rented both at the same time, and had no idea what was going on so I brought them back to the rental store and got other games instead. I got into RPGs later on, but at first I didn't understand the idea of choosing options in menu to kill stuff. At one point one of my neighbors showed me FF1 on NES and taught me how it all worked and that's how I got into it.
Oh, and just got Geist on Gamecube and Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath on Xbox.

Might sound ridiculous, but I tell everyone I know who wants to try out an RPG for the first time to play through Super Mario RPG. It's the first one I played and the one that got me into the genre. It's not very difficult (as far as RPGs go), it's not too long, and it doesn't have a complicated battle/control scheme. Paper Mario is another good option for a first RPG run as it's Super Mario RPG 2.

I would personally suggest Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. That was my first RPG, and was literally created as an introduction to the genre.
So anyway. Today was one of the best days I've had in a while, and the best part is, I didn't have to deal with stupid customs on the way back.
Street Fighter Alpha longbox (complete) Wallace & Gromit DVD game - $1.50 Singstar SingStore Volume 2 + Singstar (damaged disc) - $1.50 Three European PS2 demo discs - $1 Dance Dance Revolution Disney Mix - $1 Ten Pin Alley (Greatest Hits) - $1 Wheel of Fortune (Greatest Hits) - $1 Random Chinese SNES rom CD-R disc - $1
That Longbox Street Fighter Alpha... the disc has circular scratches. :( But I guess I can still trade it away. Hint hint. :p
I've been looking for Disney Mix for the past six years.

I found something on Ebay. After looking at it and deciding I wanted it, I realized the guy was local. We talked and I bought it. I went and picked it up today. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Japanese-Dragon-Quest-VII-Poster-PS1-Warrior-7-Square-Enix-VII-/221156155709?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&nma=true&si=pFBIjpHsDfRuBqTy1dH8gIjJL88%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
The material it is made of feels like the stuff they make banners with so its pretty sturdy. Its pretty large too! He told me a friend of his picked up from a store in Japan that had it hanging on the wall to advertise the game. Im pretty happy with the item. I just need to find a spot to hang it now!

I can't remember what I last mentioned, so I apologise if some of these are repeats -
(All Japanese) Sin & Punishment (N64) Shining Force III Premium Disc (Saturn) Chaos Seed (Saturn - first print w/bonus disc) Super Metroid (SFC) Koumajou Densetsu 2 OST Densha de GO! 2 (NGPC) Harukaze Sentai V Force (Saturn) Panzer Dragoon Saga OST (the 18 track one w/playable demo)
Edit:
Knew I'd forgotten something!
Ougon Musoukyoku (PC) Sonic the Fighters (XBLA) Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers (Saturn) Virus (Saturn)

Not sure about the trilogy, and as Scott said about the special edition of the first volume, the value can vary.
I'd check if the quad set is sealed or not. But for comparison, I probably paid ~$100 for used, and it was pain to get them all and make sure they had manuals/supplemental discs (and not all of them are in mint condition). $120 would be good for convenience & condition (sealed also would make for great resale numbers).

Find a system that works best for you - study books and flashcards bore the heck out of me, I retain words best by seeing them in context (such as translating a menu in a game, or a word written in a manga) so I learn by translating things as I come across them (not line-for-line though, that's beyond dull). Try out a few methods and see which one you find the most enjoyable :)
Oh one more important thing - be realistic! These things take time, and most people don't know every word in their native language, let alone another - not knowing every word you come across, or forgetting a word you used to know is *normal*; just keep at it and you'll improve.

Good to know, thanks for the input! Maybe I'll try the translating menus way again. Since I do have a copy of Jump Ultimate Stars to play through. Plus I've always wanted to play .hack//Link and I'll need some language skills in order to wade through that.
Also, Oooh Desocietas is gonna be jealous of that .hack//G.U. Rebirth SE!

That's really good advice! I learn best by application and practice; books also bore me and the information isn't retained with there's no context or use for the phrases immediately. Maybe trying to translate videogames will help me learn :)

Regular Show is awesome! They have a lot of gaming references too like the Master System and the Power Glove.
No Doubt!
The gaming references is, I think, one of the things about it that (for me, at least) gives it the edge over Adventure Time, etc...
REGULAR SHOW FTW, baby :P

Aw, I really like Adventure Time for the wtf factor, but I like the more childish stuff, personally.

So I've decided that my original Xbox needs some love. Obviously I'm not interested in owning too many titles, but I think there are some really solid offerings out there. Today I picked up several that are not well known, but have had some youtube action recently.
Xyanide (xbox) Yager (xbox) Shooter Space Shot (ps1) Area 51 (ps1)
The top 3 games are space shooters. All of them are really cheap, and I'd recommend all of them :)
If you don't know about Area 51 (arcade version)...god help us all!

Nothing special this month, even tho i was able to finaly get my hands on Resident Evil deadly silence for DS, for a very cheap price. Also the 3rd birthday for PSP Twisted edition.
How does that play or what does it look like? Thename alone is enough to get me interested :O
It's basically a rail shooter with a top down perspective. You have to use the stylus/touch screen which is kind of shitty IMO, but the game is pretty fun overall. You just move from left to right on the bottom of the touch screen (by using the stylus or an awkward combination of buttons) and shoot/change weapons/throw grenades at zombies and other monsters. The game moves your character forward automatically. It's a pretty decent looking DS game.
I'd recommend it for $5-$10 if you're into that sort of thing.
