Nobody responded yet? Alright, I'll shoot. My music list is diverse in the sense that I love all the classics from the 60's such as Simon & Garfunkel, The Doors, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix. I love 70's and 80's rock. 90's was the best decade of music, but it's probably because I grew up with it. 2000's I started to get more into metal, such as Slayer, Sonata Arctica, Underoath, As I Lay Dying, Trivium, Protest The Hero, etc.
I don't know why I posted a short history of it, but that's my reply lol

Ill take a turn. First and foremost, Disturbed will always be the band that I return to. After that, I listen to 90s alternative. No genre will ever replace that for me. I constantly reminisce about the 90s and music was a big part of it. I like some of the last decade of music as well. Godsmack is pretty high up there as is Breaking Benjamin. Next would be older "weird" rock. I dont really care for the classics (Beatles, Zepplin, Doors, Floyd, Hendrix, etc) but more of the lesser mentioned stuff (Kansas, Styx, Rush, REO, Triumph, YES, the Who). Lastly when Im in a different mood, Ill listen to Celine Dion. Shes beautiful and so is her voice. I actually like a lot of female singers. Flyleaf, Evanescence, Halestorm, Otep, Arch Enemy, Cranberries, Kittie just to name a few. Women's voices just sound better (as long as its not that Mariah Carey/Beyonce type junk).

Metal, Hard Rock, and Classic Rock.
I listen to wide variety of it. Pretty much any of it from the late 60s to today is game. The only exceptions really being that I don't like Death Metal (Cannibal Corpse, Six Feet Under, etc.; but I do like other hardcore styles like Thrash and Black Metal) and I don't like the rap-metal hybrid stuff (Korn, Limp Bizkit, Rage Against the Machine, etc.).
A large list of bands I enjoy:
-AC/DC
-A.F.I.
-Alice In Chains
-Amon Amarth
-Amorphis
-Blind Guardian
-Chevelle
-Children of Bodom
-Cinderella
-Dark Tranquility
-Demons & Wizards
-Dio
-Disturbed
-Dream Theater
-Five Finger Death Punch
-Guns N'Roses
-Iced Earth
-In Flames

-Ratt
-Scar Symmetry
-Scorpions
-Skid Row

-Year 200X
-
-Alice In Chains
-Amon Amarth
-Disturbed
-In This Moment
-Megadeth
-Metallica
-Mudvayne
Nice call on these bands. I should have mentioned In this Moment as one of the female voices I like as well as Lacuna Coil. And "Rain when I die" from Alice in Chains was the song I would put on repeat every night before I went to sleep. Metallica has struggled a little with the loss of Newsted and the last CD they released but most of their releases before are amazing. I think the Black album is one of the best releases of all time.

Metal is my favorite genre currently. These are some of my favorite bands:
Weird Al
Judas Priest
Sepultura
Metallica
The Cars
Black Sabbath
Death
Men At Work
Modest Mouse
Testament
Pink Floyd
Rush

The last album they put out (Death Magnetic) I thought was good. Not as good as their classic albums, granted, but MUCH better than St. Anger was before it. St. Anger sounded like it was recorded with a Fisher Price kids recorder and the song writing was terrible. Lars' drumming was the worst on it, sounded like his drum-kit was nothing more than a bunch of tin cans.
-
St Anger was the one I was thinking of. I had forgotten about Death Magnetic but it really didnt really spark any fires for me either.

I like Music. Just about anything other than country. Country music today makes me want to jab a pencil in my ear.
Metallica, Korn, and Avenged Sevenfold are my favorites.
I like everything from the Beatles, The Doors, and The Rolling Stones to Disturbed, Stone Sour, and Deftones. I've listened to a lot of Johnny Cash and Three 6 Mafia in the same night. Show me the 90's rap and I'll show you a party!
And St. Anger gets a bad rap. It wasn't the best Metallica album, but it was still a good album. It's like coming in last at the Olympics. You still made it to the Olympics.

This is the same reason we dont need sub genres for games!
-
I also forgot! I love chaotic hardcore music. Such as Converge, Tharsis They, Wolfs, The Chariot, Bayonet... just thought I'd include that as well.

LMAO! I knew someone would say something like that! In fact, I thought it myself when I was listing those music subgenres. ;p
-
I listen to a lot of different music. But if I had to pick one general genre it would be punk. I haven't found a subgenre of it that I don't like. My favorite is the late 80s Lookout Records scene.
I also like a specific subgenre of electronic music alot, IDM. See "Boards of Canada" for examples.
-
I know it's supposed to be cheesy to like 80s music. But I don't care. I've been blasting some Metallica, Scorpions, Pink Floyd, Queensryche, and Alice Cooper today and loving it! \m/

Continuing my 80s kick today with some W.A.S.P. You just aren't hair metal enough if you don't like these guys. Blackie Lawless has to be the quintessential 80s hair metal guy.
