Title: Suggestion
Post by: radar on February 09, 2013, 10:08:13 pm
On the collection screen could there be the percentages of collection complete.

For example

Atari 2600 Hardware (3) [14%]
Atari 2600 [NA] (53) [50%]
Atari 5200 Hardware (1) [2%]

This is a cool idea ...

On a different (albeit related note) 53 2600 at 50% made me laugh a little. If only there were just 106 2600 games ...  :o

It's a neat idea but it's hard to say what makes a collection complete. Some people who collect NES games only want licensed, others include unlicensed and then others want every single variant. Then you get into if you want it loose or complete, if I have every single NES game loose does that mean that I am only 1/3 of the way there?

this is a good idea but it will probably end up being coding mess because of all the things you have to take into account

I think there's a miscommunication here. I don't think he means a complete collection of that console. I think he means a percentage compared to his personal collection as a whole. For example, Atari 2600 games would account for 14% of his entire collection.

If that is what he means, then I think it's a great idea.

We will have "something" like this on our new stats page. As others have pointed out, it's tough to make this 100% accurate but I've got some ideas for this.
